Right here mate...

HUGE Queen fan here...have been since way back. I've been to several solo shows by the guitarist Brian May, visited London and Las Vegas to see the Queen musical "We Will Rock You", and met bandmembers over the years during my various Queen-related adventures.

I have also attended several fan conventions over the years both here and abroad. I am known in the Queen community as a artist who produces Queen themed artwork and graphic items. I often sell these at the conventions to help cover the costs of attending.

I love this Band! The music is awesome and original. I prefer the early era ( 73' through 80') and Brian and John Deacon are my fave members. It's too difficult to name a fave song though..too many to list! I have tons of Queen stuff...next to PTT/CEC, Queen is my next huge passion right next to Disney.

Here is the link to the official website. Here you will find loads of info and even more related links. I freqeuent the Message Forum on a daily basis.

Last year two members from the band teamed up with Paul Rogers ( of Bad Company fame) and toured the UK. This was the first time they toured under the Queen name since lead singer Freddie Mercury died in 1991. They also did two rare shows here in the US last October ( i know..i was there!) which were incredible.

Queen+Paul Rogers annouced just last month that they are touring this Spring here in the US. Perhaps you would enjoy seeing one of there concerts? It's a fantastic show..and one heck of a night of entertainment. You can find out more about the tour at the Queen Online site. They will be in most major cities in the East, West, and Central states. I'll be at the MA date in March...should be awesome.

I gotta say, I'm a huge classic rock guy, and I disagreed with their decision to go out again as "Queen". Freddie Mercury was the f-ing man... Although I heard the Paul Rodgers stuff on the Howard Stern show, and it was pretty good, but no one can replace FM.

as a side note - My list of lead singers that should not be attempted to replace.

Steve Perry (Journey)
Freddie Mercury (Queen)
Bobby Kimball (Toto - though the band had many fine vocalists / BK was the voice for them)
Rob Halford (Judas Priest)

And just because I feel like typing - my top 2 fav bands (though I cheat, because they are both ties)

1. The Beatles / Led Zeppelin (The only 2 bands who in their entire catalog, never made a bad song)
2. Kiss / Rush (Two opposite ends of the spectrum, but who can be appreciated for their different and unique qualities)

We should have more music threads here, because I can go off like a mofo about this shiznit.

Something cool is that Queen+Paul are coming to the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, WI on my birthday! Only no one wants to take me so I'm upset...I agree with The Franchize--Mercury was the man! Ha, at school I even sing Bohemian Rhapsody to people! I memorized the entire song.

If you check out the official Queen website message forum you will find many threads containing comments from fans who agree with what Billy Bob Brockali said above. There is a huge rift between some fans and others about the name "Queen" being used with only two remaining members! Many feel that a new name should have been chosen for the current B/R/Paul R effort. I can see why they decided to stick with "Queen" as it's more identifiable and thus will draw them more attention in the marketing and press. It was purely a marketing move really...

I agree that they should'nt call themselves Queen, as frankly they are'nt! Queen died when Freddie did...many people even in the serious Queen Fan community agree with this fact. I don't let it bother me too much as at least we get to see half of the band play live and get to experience that in a concert event setting. It's funky..the way they decided to do it...but i'm glad they did as now at least we can have one last hurrah. Hopefully they won't tarnish the legacy though....

And i agree...Led Zepplin effing ROCKS and i love the Beatles too. John Lennon rules!! I've not heard much Rush but ive always heard excellent things about them.

Classic Rock is the way to go!!

Is this the same Freddie Mercury that sang "Barcelona" w/ Monseratte Caballe on the "Barcelona Gold" album?

Queen II is also my favorite! "March of the Black Queen" is superior to "Bohemian Rhapsody".

Saw them in concert many times: '74 with Mott the Hoople, '76, '77 with Thin Lizzy, '78 and '79.

Awesome NSB...

Yes, Queen II is my fave album, right next to Sheer Heart Attack. ANATO is way overrated to me. A Day at the Races was far better, IMO.

Wow, you lucky duck...seeing all those classic concerts! I am a huge fan of that Queen era. To me, that was what Queen was all about.

Last weekend i attended the annual US Queen Convention in Ohio. Fantastic time with about 150 Queen freaks.

Queen are now teaming up with Paul Rogers ( of Bad Company, Free, The Firm, etc.) to record what looks to be a new album together. This will no doubt bring forth another tour. Anyone here see them when they toured this Spring as "Queen+ Paul Roger"? They kicked MAJOR A** like you would'nt beleive!!

Advice: WHEN they DO come back to tour, GO SEE THEM!! They are well worth the effort to do so!

Two days ago (the 5th) was Freddie's birthday. He would have been a whopping 60 years old!

Queen has been one of my favorite music groups since I was about ten years old. The realm of classic rock lights a enormous spark with me. The band was in its prime while my parents were in high school. They don't make music like this anymore.

I own a copy of the three-disc compilation The Platinum Collection; it's got everything. "Bohemian Rhapsody" is the track that kicks off the magnificent retrospective. This is easily one of the band's best-known songs.

The annual Queen Convention is a great time for anyone interested even remotely in the band. It's a wonderful spot to meet people and see some rare concerts and videos from the entire 30+ year span of the band's history.

I often go every year and sell my Queen Artwork, which many there who attend know me by.

It is well worth checking out if you live in the area!

I just missed getting my camera rolling in time during our CV4 roadtrip so I don't know if that will show up on the DVD...we tried doing the chorus of "We Will Rock You" while driving down towards Anaheim.
