Aww come one guys...
The past has shown us that January is usually a great show. If i remember right, the past 5 years worth of January shows have been quite good....or am i remembering wrong?
Let's wait and see what the song lineup is before we blow it off already.

11-23-2006, 08:43 PM
Yeah I did like the Jan 06 show so it's up in the air.
chuckrules
11-24-2006, 09:04 PM
most of the January shows I always enjoyed watching.:D
Shiney Happy Jenn
11-28-2006, 09:56 PM
Awww see that's better now!
January is usually a hot month as far as the shows go. It's as if the break between the Sept show and the January gives them more time to work on program. January is almost always a winner....at least in recent years it seems.
January 2001 kicked butt, as did the one either last year or the year before. I think there was only one i was'nt too crazy for but i can't remember which one it was at the moment.
So any word yet as to what songs/skits will be on the new show? I hope at least it IS just that: a NEW show. I am sure it will be ( exspecially considering this year's X-mas show is actually from 2002! lol!)

Maybe your thinking of January 1998/2005 shows Jenn?
Shiney Happy Jenn
12-01-2006, 11:52 PM
Maybe Nevin.
I think Jan 05' was the most recent one a remember being good. DId that have Helen doing "Break Out"? If so then yes. Or is that the "black show" ( as TinaFan calls it...lol) that had a ton of Earth/Wind/Fire songs?
I forget......
Well as long as the songs are decent they can't go wrong.
chuckrules
12-02-2006, 12:51 AM
Helen sang breakout on the January04 show tape/dvd. and the earth, wind, fire songs, had a ton of them on the april 06 dvd shows.:) :D

8o April 2006 show was indeed loaded with old Motown songs, but the ONLY EWF song on that show was " Getaway." Which I have to say I had a blast programming that show. The January 2004 show on the other hand had 2 EWF songs with included "Sing a Song" and "September." That for sure is ONE of my favorite shows.
MatHat13
12-02-2006, 12:10 PM
Mike, please spare us with at least ONE song on the Jan 07 show, just one is all I ask man.:hat

12-04-2006, 07:09 PM
Nah...surprise us!
i kind of miss that about these shows....it was nice to go into the store and be surprised by what they played.
This is why i usually try not to read the "current show" thread until i actually see the program as i enjoy the surprise factor.
Each there own i guess......
Keep going with those 70's and 80's covers! They are good!

Jenn, that is precisely the reason I never spill the beans.

I still think the "black show" was one of the best! I love Helen's version of Come See About Me ALOT better than Diana Ross'.
OH, and on the EWF thing, don't forget the live show, Let's Groove Tonight!!!

Guys, if previous years are anything to go by.....
Everyone knows the "new" show does'nt usually ship until the Friday AFTER New Years! That means the latest Showtape will not be arriving in stores until the 8th or 9th.
Interesting how not much has been said about this one. January Shows are usually pretty good, given the past 6 years or so's track record.
I am assuming it is a "new" show and not yet another January compilation "Generic" edition.
tinafan80
01-03-2007, 12:33 AM
Now I am confused.... all the stores here in CA got the show BEFORE the New Year.
I thought it always shipped before New Years from what I can remember from the 10 years I worked at CEC.
Hmmmmm.... oh well.
Can someone give me a breakdown on what's on it. I DON'T wanna go into a CEC at all! :rolleyes
So can someone just say what's on it?
ChuckEZone
01-03-2007, 02:25 PM
I was told we'd get it today.. if that's right, I'll post a lineup
Shiney Happy Jenn
01-03-2007, 06:30 PM
The stores here should have recieved it this week. In all the years i have been associated with my local CEC, they have never recieved a January show before New Years. It always comes the Monday/Tuesday afterwards. I suppose when it arrives depends on where you are located, as TX stores must get them in a day or two after shipping ( usually a Friday). CA stores though...wow....that is unusual that you guys got them so early!
puppetmaster29
01-03-2007, 06:52 PM
Allow me to shed some light on this for you.... The Jan 07 show shipped via u.s. mail on friday Dec 29th. The Mail did not run on monday or tuesday, so take that into account for those of you who work in a location.

New Live show is Old McDonald.
Yeah, it was on the Road Show 06 disc, and now it has video footaged.
Not very exciting, but the Jan. 07 show is great!;)
As for Road show 07, the "Hokey Pokey" is back for the entire 07.
And I don't spill the beans also, It makes it more exciting for all of you. I'm one of the rarely few who knows whats on the shows before they come out...and I know a lot of you come to me to find out, but I wish not to tell you to not feel like the bad guy to the people who tell me whats on the show...

I saw the new show today and really enjoyed it, but was a bit dissapointed too. Some of the song choices just were a bit odd, and the intermissions, i won't go there. This show was great don't get me wrong, i thought they pulled it off good, but it was really different in a weird and dissapointing way which kind of had my opinion of it a bit puzzled.

I ALWAYS felt "Good Life" was PERFECT for a CEC song Every time I heard it on Radio Disney I would almost always say in an announcer type voice "ladies & gentlemen the star of the show the one the only, CHUCK E. CHEESE!"

WOW HELEN'S GOT THREE SONGS IN THE BEGINNING OF SEGMENTS 2,3,AND,4.:D The other songs are great also.:D But I always put Helen's songs in first place lol.:p How many love this punch line when munch starts it off by saying now that your famous cand I have your autograph and the rest of gang then say they'd love to have her autograph. When she says oh sure guys as soon as the curtains close.:lol I even love the part where our moon does the whislin on she's got the money. and Jasper's like who's doing that? STOP THAT. and the moon gives a big smile. and then does it again for a little bit. And Jasper's like who, what.:lol Jasper even was able to finish a joke line when pasqually starts it off by saying. why did the cow cross over the road. Jasper-Cause he wants us to MOOOOOOOVE on over to the next intermission. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Pasqually looks straight ahead with serious face lol.

The dept has been big on the music theory jokes lately. It started with the sing along guys referencing mixed meter and bass clef. The new one this time around is during Fame when Munch goes "Hey, who put this key change in here?" That made me chuckle.

I liked the fact that the puppets were used through the songs for the Studio C version!
Great song choices & videos! Glad Munch had a more predominant role and his own solo ... I think it's been a year? I love Jon's voice.
