Regular member....me?

I noticed recently I have gone back to being a regular member when I was supposely a platinum member, did my platinum membership suddenly exspire recently?:\

Yeah there was an expiration... a decent ways back actually... I've been pretty behind on everything, and pretty lienient on club memberships. I was going to send out notices yesterday to those who expired recenly and also for those who expired months ago, but ran short on time. I'll have them all mailed out today.

Is the best way to sign up through the EZ board page, or on this page directly?
I wish to do what helps the board the most..

Well there's a few ways to go about this.

The way that works best for most people is to join up with the Fan Club... that'll give you some collectables, up your board prividlegdes, and also help out with the board, the site itself, and the radio station. The way that works is that I take all the $$ from club sales and apply it to keeping our board on 'Gold Status' - what that means is ad-free. You should see what a nightmare this message board is when the ads and pop-ups are everywhere.....

You can also donate directly to eZboard and become an eZsupporter - I'm not too sure on how this works. From what I remember, it removes the ads from your account only and nobody elses (which probably won't do anything since we're always on 'Gold' status). I'm not sure if this gives you unlimited views or not though. But I'm pretty sure this just helps make $$ for the eZboad service and doesn't help out this board in general.

The third option is to donate to the community chest on this board (go to our forum homepage - it's on the bottom of the page). This is a better option if you want to help out the board specifically and aren't interested in the Fan Club stuff. You can donate any set amount you want and can do it through paypal and directly with credit cards. The funds raised in the chest are then used to pay eZboard the next time our 'Gold' renual comes up which is every 6 months. Also if anyone does go this route, do let me know when you do it and we'll up your board prividlidges since you're a contributing member. ;)

PS - For anyone wondering or who's new here over the past couple of years.... we had to start putting the limits on user activity because the cost was getting out of hand. Right now the board costs somewhere in the range of $120 every 6 months to keep on 'Gold' status (this is based on the traffic our members made viewing/posting). I think 3 years ago with half as many members we were up around the $140 mark which all came from my own pocketbook. That may not sound like much, but with the other costs relating to this site (gotta pay a premium to keep everyone from seeing any ads) it was getting out of hand.

That's why there's restrictions and a Fan Club in the first place - hated to do it, but it's worked out quite well. Also the 'spill-over' funds have been put back into the community via contests and the Radio station. The support of the fans has helped to make this a much better and more interesting website.

Well actually, I havn't noticed til now but I don't seem to be getting any limited time on the board.:lol
