Ok, I want to know exactly what it was like to visit PTT. What the outside of the building was like, the lobby, arcade, food, shows, the infamous smell, etc...anyone who's been could probably fill me in...love to hear any other memories too!
I remember the one in Charlotte,N.C. As you walk in the front door the game room was on the left.I got play the arcade
game LOCOMOTION.You had to connect all the the train track
pieces together.I think THE KING was in there at the time.
I do remeber seeing THE BEAGLES at one time too.My brother and I ate while we watch the show for a while.I bought one of their Stein looking mugs with Chuck,Jasper and Pasqually on it.
I can't remember much more,Sorry.

The biggest difference between CEC today and PTT is you walk into a CEC and you can see the whole store when you walk in. Originally, like Showbiz, it had seperate rooms. Generally the game roomtook half the store, the ordering area was near the front door, there was the dining room which was walled off from the games and a second smaller dining room with a caberet act. In later years, caberet acts were moved to their own stage near the main show or placed in the game room to create a 'quiets zone' for parents. The merch booth dubbed "Jasper's General store" was either in the game room or by the ordering area depending on the store. Some PTT locations had 2 caberet lounges. There were no sky tubes but there was a ball pit. You had to actually put a token in the box to get in. Generally an employee was "supervising" the ball pit. In reality there job was to make sure the kids paid a token to get in. It was such a rip. THey later got rid of this practice. Under the balcony stage there was a dark light room called Munch's mad house. when someone put in a token, a strobe light came on. It was free to enter and so everyone else got to enjoy the strobe off of someone elses token. You could hear the show above the mad house so kids would often dance to the music in there. Aside from that, it isn't really a whole lot different than CEC today. The biggest changes are the shows are more video than robot with the new Studio C. and they don't have caberet acts anymore. The stores are also getting a lot smaller. Maybe this is due to the open effect of the stores. I have a feeling this was a saftey concern because it was hard to keep track of the kids when it was partitioned into different rooms. It really helped with the noise though.
