Do you think the 1977-1980's CECPTT Warblettes were inspired by R&B style and/or somewhat non R&B style girl groups (doo wop and Motown style) of the 1960's such as the Chiffons, the Marvellettes, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, the Shirelles, the Crystals, the Shangli-La's, the Dixie Cups, the Angels, the Chantels, and ultimatley Diana Ross and the Supremes?

I think there look was a rip off from Heckle and Jeckle from the old Mighty Mouse cartoon. Well...... I don't think Heckle and Jeckle were in the cartoon with Mighty Mouse but you get what I mean. ;)

I have to agree with Darryl...the Warblettes certainly were made to capture that 50's/60's singing group style.
The Brown versions are very R&B and the Rainbow versions? Who can know for sure!

There were black (somewhat blue color leaning) and colored Warblettes, but I don't recall any all brown colored Warblettes!

The Warblettes I recall are dark brown...not black. I saw them "live" and up close and even the common photo i've seen somewhere on here shows them not to be totally black. More of a dark brown, with black tips I recall.

I always call them black but you are correct they are technically brown with white on their chests and around their legs.
