There were 2 stores here that had the C stage, Military Dr. and Walzem Rd. I only have pics from the Walzem store cause a friend of my mom's took some at a party I had. I wish I had taken pics of the other locations. I remember one time at Walzem the entire Helen bot was missing from the stage and when I asked, the manager said she was being repaired. ;)

The "C" stage used the 1980's and late the 1990's Helen Henny half bodied robot according to photos I have seen.

to answer darryl and mat's posts:

Ok, all the "C" Stage robots are actually the balcony robots underneath. Some locations used new masks and cosmetics, and some got the newer ones. When all "C" Stages were removed in favor of MMBB, the robots were placed on fake legs to represent full boidied characters. Note these pics:

some stores opened w/ the C stage thus those bots were actually built by Animation World.

Oh, ok. I forgot about that, probably because they weren't doing too good at that time. Didn't Amination World build the cyberamic 8 movement bots for the balcony? If so, then they still used the same recipe as te balcony for "C" Stage thus proving my point, unless Creative Specialties made the balconies and Amination World took over. Not sure on that, but it's my guess.

No, I think Animation World came into the picture later, and...Creative Specialties...??? huh?

Creative Specalties was the company I heard made the older bots somewhere here on the board. COuld be a rumor or something someone made up, I'll research them now...

OK, apparently CS makes furniture!!! Where did I hear that then? Alright, then forget everything I said about CS, and let's see if anyone here knows who made the older bots.

BTW, how did this thread get started on the Helen bot?

IDK, but maybe you were thinking of Creative Engineering...they made the Rock-afire.

There was a company called Creative Presentations that produced the figures and suppiled most of the replacement parts starting in the mid-80's.

I am not certain if they were with the Company from the beginning as all my leads point to a local contracted company based in CA where PTT Inc. was housed.

Creative Presentations were not affiliated with Aaron Fechter's Creative Engeneering.

I don't know for sure but I think the cyberamic robots (the 8 movement robots used on the C stage, balcony and 1 and 2 stage mmbb) may have been made by several different companies over time. CEC owned the rights and I think several companies were involved in various components over time. The company making the newer MMBB cyberamic bots is definately not the same company that made the balcony robots. Somewhere I found a link in one of the threads to a company that made the metal head plates for the frames, flag wavers, banjo for Jasper and Artie's Antlers. I think it's in the PTT threads somewhere.

here's that link Captslappy:

They even made a clock of CEC's head which was hung at the Kooser location!!

But, anyway, back onto topic:

I always figured that "Creative" company Jenn mentioned made the 8 bot, then Animation World, and now Garner Holt.

Garner Holt only produces the Studio C robotic figures...they were never involved in any of the earlier stuff.

The Captain is right in saying that there were several compaines over the years that produced the various figures. Most of the work was contracted out, although the orignal figures that performed at the first PTT may have seen homemade originals produced by affiliates with Nolan. He knew many talentel people in the electronics industry and those early figures certainly look "homemade". Later on when things started to get promising for PTT Inc. they no doubt decided to contract a company to produce the first Full Cyberamic figures for the Balcony.

When PTT Inc. went belly up in 83' the original company that produced the figures for them may have gone with them. More then likely they stayed onboard with Showbiz Pizza Time until a the new owners decided to change supplies. This has happened a few times over the years i'm sure. You can just tell when you look at the various parts over the years. The original Sunnyvale supplier took incredible pride in there work and it showed. There was some wonderful craftmanship exerted in some of those Classic era figures. In the late 80's ther product was cheapened a little and of course today the modern figures are cheaper still.

Yes, tha'ts why I put Garner Holt last on the list, for Studio C.

It's VERY possible about the several companies, becasue when you look in diff. pics, they look different, especially Pasqually. BTW, how come we don't have that many Mr. Munch balcony robots?

Shiney Happy Jenn

Munch Bot's were common in the day as every location had one. I think part of the reason why not many of them turn up second-hand these days and many were not regarded as "valuable". Also too...of all the characters Munch was probably the least interesting as far as appearence goes. While the others has clothing and more complicated cosmetics, Munch was at that time just a pile of fur really. No offense to Munch, but i think your average person coming across some old parts had a choice between Jasper parts and Munch, Jasper ( being a dog) would probably have more appeal then a monster you did'nt know.

I myself have been looking for a Munch figure for some time now....and nothing as of yet. I will admit that it is true he is one of the harder Balcony figures to find. It's odd considering every location back then had one!

Why don't oyu wait until Danvers or anyone else get's a new stage, and then see if you can get their Munch robot, because I think that was the balcony one.

Or what about Marvin's? Is he willing to sell his Munch to anyone? If he is, try him, Jenn!!!

NOT TRUE. according to their website in the clientele section the have done stuff for BOTH ShowBiz Pizza Time Inc. AND what it is now,CEC Entertainment inc.

MMBBfan327
10-24-2005, 04:52 PM
That could mean anything. SPT Ic. was still used when Studio C was being produced for the first time.
