If you could have owned your own Pizza Time Theatre franchise, what would you have had in it? This is all hypothetical and some of these things you wouldn't have had control over, but just for fun let's say you could have chosen the following:

1) What caberet/lounge acts would your store have had? (Limit 2)

2) Would you rather have one store with 2 lounge/caberets or 2 seperate franchises with only one lounge or caberet?

2) Black Warblettes or Colorful Warblettes?

3) Walk arounds... you get Chuck and one other mascot... would it be Jasper, Munch or Pasqually? (Helen didn't have a walk around in the PTT days. These were the only 4 characters available at the time).

4) All the guests were rotated around by corporate but if you could have chosen a permanent guest star for your store who would it have been? (Sally Sashay, Harmony Howlette, Foxy Colleen, Madame Oink or Helen Henny)

5) Another hypothetical and it's a tough one... If you got to choose between Munch or Crusty, which would you have gone with. (No cheating... you can't substitute Crusty for Pasqually. It has to be either Munch or Crusty).

6) Balcony or Rocker stage? (the porch set up)

I would have had a caberet with Dolli and a lounge with The King.

2) Would you rather have one store with 2 lounge/caberets or 2 seperate franchises with only one lounge or caberet?

1 store only with a lounge and caberet

2) Black Warblettes or Colorful Warblettes?

Black (actually they are brown if you get real technical)

3) Walk arounds... you get Chuck and one other mascot... would it be Jasper, Munch or Pasqually? (Helen didn't have a walk around in the PTT days. These were the only 4 characters available at the time).

Munch!

4) All the guests were rotated around by corporate but if you could have chosen a permanent guest star for your store who would it have been? (Sally Sashay, Harmony Howlette, Foxy Colleen, Madame Oink or Helen Henny)

Harmony of course

5) Another hypothetical and it's a tough one... If you got to choose between Munch or Crusty, which would you have gone with. (No cheating... you can't substitute Crusty for Pasqually. It has to be either Munch or Crusty).

Munch

6) Balcony or Rocker stage? (the porch set up)
Balcony. Otherwise where would Munch's Mad house go?

1. The KING in the lounge, Artie/Dolli in the Cabaret room
2. Black Warblettes
3. Jasper T. Jowls
4. Harmony Howlette
5. (I know people are gonna kill me) Crsuty the Cat
6. Rocker (Munch's MadHouse plus the Cheez Maze would be in the playroom which is part of the arcade).

that's cool. i heard they're just like the mmbb robots, is that true? what were all of their movements?

The 2 stage CEC robots are basically teh same as the balcony/rocker stage bots. If a CEC was originally a PTT they are the same robots. If it is a newer store they are of the same design but not identical. The balcony characters each had 8 movements. All had mouth open/close, eyes right/left, eyes open closed, head right and left and at least one working arm. Some characters heads went up and down. Pasqually's arms worked in tandem and his mustache wiggled. Jasper, Helen and Chuck had the head up down movement and their left arm was linked by a bar that would make it go in and out when the character turned. Munch actually had 2 independent arms powered by air cylinders but his head could not go up and down. The birds just rocked side to side and all 3 beaks opened and closed but they could not operate independently. Thus the Warblettes almost never spoke and when they did it would be one or 2 words. The side show characters had a few more movements because in most cases they were just single characters. The King and pianists used 2 character cards and this allowed things like their ears to move and for them to have full head motions and independent hands. King's foot tapped and his hips swiveled. The Beagles were basically the same robot as the Warblettes. They each used a single character card in the computer and had 4-6 movements. Their eyes didn't move or blink.

Yeah, I think Crusty looks so cool. Gene Landrum told me he didn't like the 'Crusty' idea and went for a new approach (ie Mr. Munch).

BTW, Jenn: Did you know Robert Black played Chuck, Crusty and the rest of the vocies in the early 70s? Gene told me that. :)

I think Gabe is right on the same person voicing all the guests. Sally and Harmony in particular are obvious. I'm pretty sure Oink and Helen are the same person if you really listen. I'm betting this is also true on Foxy Colleen. When I get home and get a chance I am really going to listen to the voices to confirm this.

Yes, that's correct. I've listened to Sally, Harmony, Oink and Helen and have figured my thesis statemnt which is "all CECPTT guest stars are done by the same person." this is also true for Chuck, Jasper, Crusty, Pasqually and Munch. They were done by Robert Black from 1977-1979 or so. Foxy I'm still awaiting to figure out, but my hyposesthis is "foxy colleen WAS done by the same performer." As for the Cab acts, Dolli was done by a lounge singer (makes perfect sense), as for Artie, B.B., etc., I'm assuming B.B. was done by the same person.

I don't know her name but Dolli was voiced by a young black girl (probably early 20s) Nolan saw in a night club. I think she was singing in a piano bar kinda place. She was an unknown. I have listened to both Dolli reels and I am not sure they are the same person. If not, the second voice is darn close to the original.
