Ah, yes the rare Cheez Factory FunHouse. Which stores do you know of have this? 2701 S. Chase Ave. #842 had it. And I remember it to this day. Did any of yours look different from the others? Chase had a slide, a ladder, a door and a "maze" type in inside. It kicked so much ass. How come they trashed it? Do you think any CEC's out there (mostly franchises) still have it?

The CECPTT in Hoffman Estates from 1983-1986 never had a Cheez Factory Fun House, but it had a similar CEC Play-N-Place.

I remember a cheese slide. YOu went in through a mouse hole, climbed to the top (it wasn't very tall) and slid down the slide. The slide looked like a block of cheese. I don't know if this is the same thing you are talking about or not. There wasn't much to the slide I am thinking of.

Danvers MA #478 was the only location in the Northeast that had it i think......there was nothing like it anywhere!
It was awesome....it looked like a mini town with a factory section and a mini play hotel facade next to it called "Hotel Harmony". In the little window of the factory building, there was a animated conveyer belt that pretend blocks of cheese rotated on while a boot kicked it off the end of the belt! The place was all lit up with neon lighting and some fab graphic designs...most of which were hand made creations from PTT directly.
Inside there was a Mirror Room, dark maze, two floors of fun, windows up top you could look out of, and a straight slide you slid down to exit out of the area that brought you out to the side of it. It was very very cool....but a nightmare to keep clean as it was very cramped and tightly compacted.
It was done away with primarily for these reasons.....and also becuase of society in general becoming lawsuit-happy. It was also deemed somewhat of a fire trap and some parents complained that they could'nt see there kids ( this was in the late 80's).
Our Cheese Factory in Danvers was put in when the place opened in 1981 and was removed during the Summer 1989 remodel. In it's place was put games, and a pre-skytube contraption.

Yours was taken down in '89?
Chase had theirs until '95 or so. In the late 80s, the Ball Crawl with the older looking Munch and Jasper signs was put in next to it, and then in '95, it was taken down in favor of the SkyTubes and pre-Toddler Zone

BTW, is there any pics of the Cheez Factory FunHouse on the site?

Nope, apparently there is a short video of one being torn down, but because the CEC Cheese Factory was only a test idea apparently, and at so few locations, any pictures are quite rare.
I remember getting stuck in there as a very young child and them having to come and get me out :)
