Did you know...
* Gene Patrick, who wrote and produced some shows for the Marriott's Great America theme parks (Gurnee, Illinois - now Six Flags; and Santa Clara, California - now Paramount's) from 1976-1980's, produced some of the 1977-1980's CECPTT Pizza Time Players shows?
* 1977-early 1990's Chuck E. Cheese voice Scott Wilson also was a Marriott's Great America Santa Clara, California performer?

Claification to my Gene Patrick/Scott Wilson post: I think it was Joe Spano voicing Chuck E. 1977-early to mid 1980's and Scott Wilson voicing Chuck E. mid-late 1980's to early 1990's.

Scott Wilson started out as Chuck but later added Munch as well

I'm getting my names confused, but if Joe Spano is the one who was on a cop-themed TV show, I was told he did Pasqually's voice.
I got this info from the guy who used to be a manager of the Pleasanton PTT (Doug K from the Photo gallery). He said that somewhere he had an autographed PR photo of him.
I'll have to go back through old e-mails and see if I can't find more accurate info on this....

Yeah, he was also on Apollo 13 with Tom Hanks. It shouldn't be too hard for us to find out which character he voiced and from when to when. You would think it'd be on the net somewhere on one of his resume's or bios...

So, now with this voice talk, is it safe to say:
1. Chuck E. Cheese (Scott Wilson, Duncan Brennan)
2. Jasper T. Jowls (Bob West, Jeremy Blaido)
3. Pasqually (Joe Spano, IDK:b )
4. Mr. Munch (don't know about the early days, Scott Wilson, not ot sure about today:b )
5. Guest Stars (I have NO idea, I'm guessing it was the same person, as they sort of all sound alike, especially Harmony and Sally...)
6. Cabaret(s): (Dolli was a nightclub singer, Arite and the rest I have NO idea)
Ok, so maybe I don't know as much as I thought, lol, but could someone help me make this list complete?

Bob West did Pasqually's voice too from the late 80's thru the late 90's and there were MANY other voices in there too...

Ok, I recently found out more info on the early voices and an unknown character:
Voices: ALL of the early 70s voices were played by Rob Black.
As for this new character, the names are "The Pointer Sisters," who would drop down from the ceiling and sing at the first location.

We are watching that movie in my science class and I have NO idea which person he is. I *think* he's the bald guy that sits behind the desk when they tell Tom Hanks' character that that one guy has measles or something.

Munch had several voices during the Pizza Time years. In fact some of the later PTT birthday skits have a different voice from the main show skits. I agree that the same person likely did the voices for all the guest stars. I also believe that this voice actor did the warblettes and other background vocalists. Dolli was indeed a night club singer although we have yet to get a name on her. She ws a distinctly different person from whoever did the balcony guests. I don't know on BB Bubbles since I have not heard her. I suspect since she was later it was the voice of Helen and the other guests.

Then that leaves the mystery of Artie....My guess is perhaps the person that did either Pasqually or Munch at the time did his voice...Idk.

Or perhaps the speaking voice of King and/or the lead singer of the Beagles. The Beach Bowzers actually had an announcer and they didn't introduce themselves like the Beagles did. Actually later on when they made the 90s Bowzer reel the lead singer talked like one of the ninja turtles and the dogs all barked during the songs. That reel made the Bowzers not suck anymore!

I have recordings of Artie that i made back in 82'. He has a low voice with a lot of personality.
Comparing it to other voices i have heard from that era, it is possible that the same guy who voiced The King also did Artie. I don't know about the early Munch though....i think he was someone different from the other two characters.
Yes, all the Guests were pretty much voiced by all the same person. It's obvious on the early shows. Dolli was another woman who Nolan "discovered" playing in a local nightclub. She was offered the job of doing Dolli's vocal performances and in those shows it's obvious this is someone who knows what they are doing professionally. This is why the Dolli shows were so entertaining...they were like a "real" nightclub act. The same goes for Artie.

I suspect that she was specifically a piano bar singer and I bet she actually played the piano parts herself. Was Artie's background music just piano like Dolli or were there any other instruments in it? I was wondering the same with BB. Actually was BB's music done with a piano or a pipe organ or kaliape? The kaliape would have been most appropriate if she did circus related songs like it says in her bio on the character page.

Yeah, that Bio was from me.....
Artie played piano as well...boogie woogie style with a hint of jazziness. It is possible it was the same player, i would have to hear it again to know for sure. I have'nt listened to my tape for a while.
Dolli definately has a pro player/singer...no doubt in my mind about that.
B.B. Bubbles also has a piano backing track, but if i remember correctly it had a more keyboard like sound to it. I don't recall the sounds of a circus calliope at all...that i would surely remember as i actually enjoy this type of music. I'm pretty sure it was some cheesy keyboard music. She sang in a giddy, childish voice and giggled constantly. At the time i found it very annoying...like Oinks' oinks! I was not a huge fan of BB as far as her material goes..it was a lot of kiddie songs.
Hope this sheds light on some things...

It sounds to me like the final round of lounge/caberets were definately not up to par with the first offerings. I suspect from the sounds of it guest stars would have also started going down hill had PTT continued that concept. I think the description of "sloppy retrofit" is an accurate way to describe The Beach Bowzers, King Kat and BB Bubbles. It sounds like of these 3, BB was probably the best offering. As I have mentioned before, the caption on her picture specifically described her as being available as a retrofit to other caberet acts (Dolli and Artie). There is no question King Kat was a modified King. I would be suprised if a single King figure began life as King Kat. I think the Bowzers could have gone either way. Sometimes I see the Bowzers with a left-handed guitarist and other times they have 2 right handers. I think that is a tell-tale sign which shows started as Bowzers and which ones were Beagles that were changed at a later date. I would still love to find out who voiced the cabs and lounge acts and if those actors were connected to the voices of the balcony stage or not. It would also be interesting to know which actors did the same characters.

Why would CECPTT sometimes make a "sloppy retrofit"?
