How long were the pizza time player restaurants around after Chuck E. Cheeses bought out Showbiz?

SPP bought PTT around 83/84, then around 87, SPP/PTT became one company known as "ShowBiz Pizza." Then around 89/90, all RAE's where changed to make MMBB, and then most SPP became CEC. The alst SPP closed around 92/94. Also when MMBB was installed, PTT changed its name to "Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza" and then around 97, they changed to "Chuck E. Cheese's." Hope this helps! :D

So then there were PTT restaurants still around after Showbiz purchased them? If this is so, did these restaurants still have all the caberat acts and guest stars that they had before?

I think the last CEC location with the CECPTT name was the Odgen, Utah location in 1991-1992 (where pics taken in 1991 are on Trey's Pics Page in the Pizzacam Photo Gallery).

Yes. They all went to using the name Showbiz Pizza around 1988 but they still kept their respective shows. They started phasing out caberet acts in the very late 80s and early 90s. Once they went to being called CEC they phased out the Rock-afire and all the PTPs and RAEs all became MMBBs. The King and some Beagles and Bowzers shows survived for a few years at some locations but as far as I know they are all gone now. There might be one or two stores out there that have King or Beagles. Dolli, Artie and BB were all phased out before the 90s. I don't know a specific date on them and we are trying to find out for sure when they dropped the piano players.

Most of the "true" Cab Acts ( piano versions) were pulled out of locations by the late 80's. A few stores still had the Lounge acts ( King, Dogs..etc.) but the piano versions all went bye-bye earlier on.

Some locations had The King still installed and operating right up until the mid 90's but those were few and far between.

Technically they may not have changed all the signs outside since this was a short term thing but they did go to using the Showbiz name. We are talking legal stuff on paper. The sign on the building isn't what makes the place Pizza Time Theatre or Showbiz Pizza.
