Does anyone know the lyrics to the CECPTT Warblettes' song "Honey Bun Birthday"?

Is that the one where they go, "Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday baby!" and then sing other words I'm not sure of?

No. It goes "Honeybun, birthday fun, won't you be my birthday one" (birds sing that line) Then Jasper says "please say yes" and I think Munch replies "Don't say no" and the birds say "And we'll tell the world." Those may not be the right words but it's like that. It keeps speeding up and they sing faster and faster. Finally CEC says "That song is making me very dizzy". I think Jasper is the one that says something like "would you like a more traditional approach" and CEC then replies "I sure would. How about happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you. Got it?" Birds (in unison) "Got it!" and they do a traditional Happy b-day song. It's kind of an amusing birthday skit just cuz it gets crazier and crazier. I think the birds rock faster and faster as the song speeds up.

Oh, I remember that!!! I have that one one reel (I forgot which one, I think possibly Harmony or Sally?). That is a wicked cool song.

That song was on several reels. Definately all the guests prior to Helen. They may have put it on some of Helen's too. I forget. Once Helen came in they started changing the b-day skits and cheer skit up.

Could "Honey Bun Birthday" have even turned up in 1978-1979-1980 CECPTT showtapes?

I don't doubt it...That would have been a very festive and awesome celebration on the portrait show. It was probably re-done a lot of times though.

Yeah very likely that the early cheer and b-day skits the balcony did with Sally, Oink and Harmony were also done in the 70s. Sally has the same skits on her reel so I bet they go at least back as Foxy's introduction in the balcony show. I would not be surprised if they go all the way back to the beginning.

Very possible. Many of the early shows follow the same patterns and even similar music.

If you think about it, the same holds true today. So many "old shows" have been remade for todays' shows....certain songs at least.
