Just a new thread for PTT:
How many of you experienced Harmony live? I've only heard showtapes. Anybody here have any Harmony stories or comments to share?
(This is about the guest star Harmony from Pizza Time Theatre circa 1982 or so, not the one that posted...)

I did. It was 1981 and I was in kindergarten. I had never heard of Pizza Time Theatre before. A little girl in my kindergarten class invited me to go to PTT one night. My parents had just taken me to McDonald's but I went anyway. I had no idea what to expect. I was awestruck by the balcony and Harmony was there. I really liked Harmony and at the time I had no idea she was only a temporary character. A year later another PTT opened that was closer. I remember being so mad and crushed when I ran into the dining room to see the show and there to my horror was madame Oink! I always hated Oink until recently because that was the last time I ever saw her... well in PTT anyway. Now anytime I want to see Harmony I just go in the garage.

Yes i was there firsthand to experience Harmony and PTT in there glory days. In August of 1981 i went to my first PTT in Brandon Fl and she was there.
I saw her many times as i was a frequent visitor. I photographed her quite a bit too ( you can see a few pix of her in my Photo Gallery here on Showbiz.com).
Harmony was THE best Guest Star...no doubt about it. She had a good character and all the shows had a nice feel to them. I have not heard any of the shows since then, but i do remember them being fun and entertaining.
Harmony to me represents the "Golden Era" of PTT as things were going so great with the concept back in her time. How i miss her now!

I never saw a Harmony Howlette robot at any CECPTT I went to (I mostly saw Madame Oink and Helen Henny in the guest star spot), but I did see a B&W photo of Harmony herself on the walls of CECPTT HQ in Irving, Texas when I toured the place in May 2001. I even noticed Harmony on the 1989-1990 CEC Parody Movie Posters "Indiana Jowls" and "Wizard of Cheez".

Ugh, I hate Madame Oink.
Do you think kids in TX would really appreciate Hamrony?

Nah, not really the only side shows that I liked were the king and the beagles. I'm sure I would've liked Dolli too just from hearing her reels, but there wasn't one in the area. :(

I used to hate Oink but she's grown on me as an adult. My main grievance against her was she replaced Harmony.

I hate her becasue of the oinking noises.
Othewise, I like her, but the oinking's gotta stop!!!

Yeah, the constant "snort...snort" could get on your nerves after a while. If she did'nt constantly do this, i think her appeal would have been better.
I always liked how she looked...the mint green dress with the stylish hair and feather trims...very classy looking. She had awesome cosmetics too...very well made and they has a sculpted look, her face area particularly.
I think Oink was a unsung star of PTT. She had a LOT more potential but was cut short due to Helen's arrival in 83'. I sometimes wonder how more she would have developed as a character if left to expand a little...

Yeah, if given more time, I;m sure Oink would have improved VERY well. If they listened to the reels, they would know how annoying Oink is, and try to improve her.

Helen lost her clucking so I'm sure had Oink stayed she probably eventually would have not only quit snorting but would have lost the French accent as well. That was the great thing about Harmony. She didn't make annoying noises. She did howl sometimes but it wasn't annoying like Helen and Oink. Sally was also good for that reason since skunks really don't make noise.

People that see my stuff that don't know much about Pizza Time Theatre often ask "What's that one?" when they see Harmony. No one is ever sure what she is. Some think at first glance she is a girl Chuck E. Her fur is a darker grey but at first glance it looks the same. I'm sure the difference in color was lost in the dimly lit PTT stores. Although her ears arepointy, they look an awful lot like CEC's. I never gave this much thought before, but this is likely a good reason she didn't stay around long. She just does not offer a lot visually in terms of diversity since she does have alot in common with the rat. Those that really grew up with PTT almost always favor Harmony over the other characters but for those that were not lucky enough to see her, I don't think she has mass appeal. Especially in the area of contributing to making each character cosmetically unique. Thoughts?

Well, I like her image (she's holding a "3" iron brand in her hands) in the 2006 Cheesevention 3 logo!

Yes it does and Harmony is still my all time favorite. I can't think of a better character to be featured for the CV3 logo.

Just so you know gang...Harmony was added to the logo in a last minute change of plan.
She was added as a nod to The Captain, since she is his favorite PTT character and he agreed to co-host CV3 this year!
Way to go Captain!
The logo was always planned as being western themed. Orignally it was slated to feature Jasper as the main character with Billy Bob and Chuck in the background as shown. Our own Veganova suggested that i add Harmony or incorporate her some how into the design as a nice little nod to the Captain. I agreed, and thus switched Jasper to Harmony. It was a good choice!
Glad to hear you like the logo!

I own more than that. That is cool! Harmony in the logo all cuz of me! This time around CV3 may be more western themed for other reasons too. It's fitting though since we are in Texas!

Well yes of course...having a CV in Texas would indeed call for a western-themed logo....

I was noticing on Harmony 2(Honky Tonk Harmony) that on the song Pizza Time Hoedown Chuck's saying "Come on Nolan...Come on Gene...Joe!"
I'm familiar with Nolan and Gene as part of PTT but I wonder which Joe Chuck's referring to...maybe Joe Spano Pasqually's voice(1977-1982)

Notice the Joe Spano photo, I guess you got it from the IMDB (Internet Movie Data Base) web site.
