From listening to almost all the acts, I'd have to say my favorite show is no doubt, KING 90 #1. That show is completely amazing! What about you? What's your favorite act?

Dolli! No offense guys but the 90s King stuff is total $h!7. He was much better with the old Elvis recordings and the voice impersonator doing intros and outros. I hate the roaring and I just don't like the way the new ones were done. I'm glad King still existsed into the 90s but like everything else, he was best back in the day. I wish I could have seen Artie Antlers. I think I would have really liked him too.

Haha, the roaring is awesome! But yeah I will admit I'm not too anxious to hear The KING's last reel, KING '95 or whatever it is. Beagles I was ok too but the announcing Beagle really kinda got on my nerves after a while.

Well that just proves it's all what you grew up with!

That's how I am about all the PTT shows from like '80-'86, I'm usually like annoyed by their primative sounding voices. :x You older people who grew up with it love it!

I started going in '85 but only remember CEC from about '88 on and that's when the King was already using the fake voice stuff, I really liked King '90 #1 and #2 because they were just good upbeat songs and the roaring just didn't really bother me...:rolleyes

Although I had not grown up with the original PTP, I seem to like some of their songs a little bit. The voices are somewhat, how do I put this...different, but I can stand to listen to it. Jasper's laugh did get quite annoying though, same with Helen's clucking and Oink's snorting. My all-time favorite era was when Munch's Make-Believe Band entered the picture, although it was a sad day from RAE fans. So I guess you could say that I like pretty much all of CEC's work.

I wish I could really enjoy the full spectrum but I'm stuck in the 80s, what can I say? Some of the MMBB stuff is cool. It's just not the same for me though...

Yeah the thing with MMBB was for the first couple of years they used the same format as the RAE, with being much of a "Live Concert" format, and the '80s material (Balcony mostly) was pretty much just like a Stand Up Comedy routine you might expect to find at a Club where kids are welcomed. I also do love the beat for most of the PTT shows, like the Disco pattern most had, especially Helen Henny's Bandstand #1. VERY cool show! >D

After 84 the original people were gone and showbiz was in control so they had to find their way again. That was the basic idea though. The Pizza Time Players were almost a vaudeville/Muppet show type thing. They weren't a live band like the RAE. It really was a theatre hince the name. It was a different vibe and concept from what it later became. Alot of ppl don't really understand that. Particularly those that did not live it. CEC was forced to turn the PTPs into the MMBB because of the necassary conversion of the RAE. The thing is the guys that are doing it now can never make the MMBB as good as the RAE was back in the day no matter how hard they try. They also can't ever go back to what they once were so CEC is forever locked into being a second rate version of its former glory days. I think the eventual total conversion of Studio C (or at least going down to just Chuck) which will happen sooner or later will only be a further step from the greatness that was once called Pizza Time Theatre.
