Which PTT character (Cab Act) was used at most locations, or for the longest time?

it seems like "the king" was the only character to last the longest,lasting until the very end....

King wasn't the earliest caberet/lounge act but he was certainly the longest lasting. He has way more reels than any of the others. I believe the next runner up is the Beagles who have 3 that I know of. King was up to about 9 with all the ones we found. He has the most universal appeal of the side shows too and he seems to be the one that pops up the most out of all the caberets on Ebay and other sources. I have seen or heard of at least 6 Kings over time being for sale. I think Dolli and the other pianists were the first ones to be phased out sadly. I have heard rumors of Beagles and Bowzers lasting as long but I don't think they were nearly as common as the King in their prime or later in life when the side shows began to get phased out all together. I still have heard rumors a very few Kings and Beagles shows are still in service in some CEC franchizes.

Yeah we had the Beagles at the Military store until about '95 too...and the King until '95 at Walzem

if you think it's amazing that the Beagles stayed at one until '95, then get this: I hear there's 2 franchises in California that STILL have the KING and the Beagles!!! :eek :o

Oh, really? It's just a rumor? Wow, that REALLY fooled me, lol! Yeah, that would be pretty cool to walk into CEC and then see the KING in the corner, and the Beagles right by a 2-stage MMBB, huh? Somebody in Cali should maybe investigate this, just so we're sure. You never know...Once Phase IV hits, that's it. It's over. I wonder if I should try to call all the stores in CA and ask if they still have them. Yeah, maybe I should do that. What do you guys think?

I'd like to know why this thread was started as a poll... it's really not an opinionated question now, is it? However, I DARE you to call every store in California and ask about cabaret acts... most stores will think you're crazy, some may even ask you to explain what the hell you're talking about. Be prepared to hear a lot of:
"No, we have the Chuck E. Cheese show."

I've been to ALL the CA franchises on our list & NONE have either the King or Beagles. Now it's possible these 2 locations exist down in Southern,CA. I know Dani DID say she had a franchise store in her area. I will email her & see what I find out.

I can't swear that the Beagles and King being in the store are still true but it comes from a reliable inside source. I will see if I can find out more about that when I talk to the guy next.

While the CEC still having the Beagles and King show currently is a rumor, 1 California CEC location had the CECPTT balcony/shelf show until 2001!

That's really cool how some locations had stuff for a LONG period of time. A great example is the Rockford, IL location. They STILL have the Porch show!!! :eek

See what shows are near and in Paradise California. The store(s) are somewhere in that area. I believe there are 2. One with King and one with Beagles although they might be the same location.

It's not in Paradise. I heard it might be in Chico Cali. Not sure where that is and the person who told me this doesn't know if they are still there but they were as of about 5 years ago.
