Well; I've changed guys. I went and applied for a job at CEC!8) I went in the store for the first time in 9 years. I was very impressed at how neat and clean the place was kept.
I know I've had my complaints about CEC in the past, but I'm softening up. I enjoyed myself actually. It brought back a lot of memories. Munch's Make Believe Band actually grew on me a little. The Rock-afire is still my fav.. don't get me wrong.
But, I actually kind of liked MMBB. They had it in very good working order and the stage was neat and clean. I like the different colored accent lighting that they're shining onto the front of the curtains during intermission now. It made the stage look cool. Chuck's stage had a green light shining on the curtain, Munch's stage had yellow I believe, and Pasqually's was red. LOL... Pasqually still gives me the creeps, but I can put up with him... no big deal there. All I can say is... thumbs up to CEC for doing some new things with MMBB and thumbs up to the manager of the Fort Smith, AR store for keeping it in such fine shape.:D I hope I get hired.... I applied for an open walkaround character position. I would love to play Chuck and run around the store giving out high fives. Does anyone know what the walkaround person does when they're not in their suit walking around? I figure they'll put me to work cleaning tables or working in the kitchen or something like that when I'm not in the costume. Anyway, I'm checking my phone messages every day when I get in to see if the CEC manager has called. I know... some of you are dying of shock right now.... LOL! Rockafireguy going inside CEC... who would have guessed.... LOL!

You'll mostlikely be a floater (float from area to area, depending on where you're needed.) Congrats on your decision! CEC isn't all bad ;) We have our fingers crossed for you:D

The more likely scenario is what your actual position will be and when you're not doing that you'll be in costume

True, some stores don't hire specifically for the walkaround character. RAEGuy- Did you have any other position in mind, as a backup?

Yeah, PuroMax is right...

They tend to hire you for Games/Kitchen ( guys) or Cash/Hostess ( girls) primarily and very rarely just to do the mascot.

You could get lucky though...it really depends on the location you have applied at. If it's a high-volume store ( High sales) they chances are they have folks on staff who are just Chuck or have a position availble for this.

If it's a average to low volume location ( slow sales) then more then likey they are not able to 'afford" such a position or simply do not offer it.

It all depends on Location, the GM's attitude towards upholding the Company Standard regarding Chuck E.'s role, and luck.

yea, none of our stores have any official CEC person where thats all they do. sometimes friday nights, all day sat and sun we schedule someone to do chuck. like 12-8 and such. but on other slower days, like now, everyone just takes turns every hour doing the road shows and ticket splashes

Well at least that is being done...

Too many stores i have visited don't even bother with taking turns! You only ever see Chuck E. out if it's one of four things:

1: There is a party going on, and he is doing or has done the brief Live SHow.

2: You go to a high-volume location where they can afford to have a full weekday/weekend CEC Cm on.

3: You are close friends with the Mangers and they delight in granting your wishes.

4: You are close friends with "Chuck E." himself and he always comes to visit YOU when you visit his place~

Well, I also applied to be a game room person, kitchen, etc. I saw walk around listed on the CEC website at Fort Smith, so I applied for that also. I'll be sure and get some pics of the place when I get a chance.
