I wanted to give a review of the new CEC in greeley colorado,but most people aren't going to like the direction the new CECs are heading,so WARNING FOR THOSE WITH BAD HEARTS ;) .....I went to the new CEC yesterday in greeley and I must say the outside of the store looks cool,alot of black and purple,really dark looking,kind of cool,but the problem was when I walked into the store,the first thing I noticed was that the walls were all painted blue which reminds me of a daycare rather than a CEC,I also noticed that the skytubes no longer exist,and that there were no paorody posters and only a couple character pictures on the walls (mostly chuck although there were two munch pictures) now instead of parody pictures they had pictures (not real pictures put drawings) of kids,one picture had a kid holding tickets in his hand,in the game room,you got nothing but toddler games,there were a couple video games and skeeball machines but for the most part most of the games came up to an adults waistline,they had the balls that you jump into but it was real small and was the only thing that was tall enough to touch the ceiling,it's kind of sad when you can see adults towering over the games and rides,the showrooms are now open (this is the way it is at the loiusville store so I assume that all the new CECs now have the showroom in the open,they had the beta studio-c,with the random movment chip,they also had the walk around out at the same time,i must say I don't like the direction CEC is going,it looks more like a daycare than a CEC...

Wow, that's REALLY scarry. I take it they don't even have Memory Match? That's a classic. Anyway, we should warn Rudy aka ThatSmilingFace, because he's REAL excited about applying there. Do you perhaps have any pics of this new store? Also, have you been to the Lewisville store? Here's a pic of it, does it still look like this:

It surprises me tihs store has a ball-pit, as all of the ones by me (including McDonald's) have gotten rid of them like 6 years ago. I wonder if this store will be successful?

the louisville (sp) colorado store which is right next to superior colorado (they are pretty much the same city) has a beta studio-c,I have no pictures of the new store....the ball pit is very,very small,I would say about the size of one of those blowup pools,it does reach up to the ceiling and has a little slide hooked onto it which is hooked onto a tube (kind of like a mini skytube but it's very very smalland only goes a couple feet)

are you serious? man, this sounds very bad. :o i wouldn't be surprised if this location was not one of the "popular" locations.

actually Greely has a Cappa (Crappa) stage but I can see where you'd think it's a Beta as the back wall is similar.

I have not liked the direction CEC has taken for a long time starting with the intro of the Studio C concept. It is getting further and further from what Pizza Time Theatre was which is where my interest lies. I feel in the next few years we will see the phase out of all supporting characters except CEC. They are holding off scraping the 2 and 3 stage shows but I still believe the day will come where they only use a CEC robot. They may end up just using the cyberamic or old CEI bot to save costs but I believe it will happen probably in 5 years or less.

Yeah in my opinion CEC's been going down since 94. They start making the cabaret acts sing about..oh I like Chuck E., I like pizza... and then get rid of the cabarets altogether. :rolleyes It sucks now, I just go cause I have friends that are techs and managers etc...

I see what PizzaCam's saying. I kinda think the turn was perhpas started in '90, because in the KING 90 showtape, he mentions how CEC is so cool, and he dedicates half of the reel to the other characters. Most songs now are ALMOST all about CEC. As I recall, Jasper has had a couple, and I think Pasqually had a solo back in November '03. The worst part about that song is that he sings in an Italian words, so I couldn't even understand it.

I dont know what song you're thinking about?!?! The last Pasqually song solo was in the April 04' show, "All you need is Love"


Most songs now are ALMOST all about CEC

Key word in that sentence is ALMOST!!!! As I recall I can only mention a couple songs that are about CEC. Plus, those songs are attention getters to kids, they hear that song and get it stuck in there head to keep reminding there parents to take them back to CEC.

thats sad!!! and thats exactly why i want to open my own restaurant and do things the way they should be done! it looks like everyone here knows so much and has so many great ideas! if my dream ever does come to surface, i will certainly be checking in with you guys for some feedback!
