Hey!
Saturday and Sunday at work, our Sept. show stopped working. When we would insert the tape, it would eject it. It was just like if you were to put in an old show tape that you weren't suppose to play, it would eject it after a few seconds of reading it.
My tech is more than likely going to order a new one, but it would have the same code on it wouldn't it? So it won't work either will it??
The only shows that would work were the Generic shows. So we played Best of 93 all weekend. It was LOVELY!
Hmmmmmmmmmm......

The tape itself could be broke... That's what happened here the tape got crumbled and would get stuck during a skit and just stop and rewind. I see now how much of a ***** tapes are as opposed to DVDs. |I

Hmmmm...sounds like your system is having a problem ID-ing the codes on the tape.

Our machine once had that happen after a power spike during a electrical storm. It was acting screwy like this until i did a total power down and waited 5 minutes before powering up the computer again.

I assume your Tech has already tried this?

Well, the thing is that the tape is not damaged or anything. We took the tape out, did a live and b-day show, then put the tape back in. It rewond itself, then started. On the Cyberstar sceen it said tape start with 2 **, then a # sign came up and ejected the tape. It did over and over again. Finally I just put in Best of 93 and moved on.
It did the exact same thing on the old show tapes that weren't valid anymore.

I don't know. I was off today. So who knows what's going on there.

Sounds to me like your Show Computer is not able to read the coding on the tape. Every Showtape has a "code number" that the show system picks up as electrical pulses once the tape starts to play at any point, particularly the beginning. This is how Corporate controls when and where these shows can be played which is important legally for them since most of the songs on shows these days they have to pay royaly fees for using. For some weird reason your SC is reading the wrong # on your September showtape.

More then likely it's just the tape. Have your Tech order a new one thru Parts and things should be ok.

If you recieve your new tape and the SC still rejects it, then i'm afraid your store will have to either replace the Comp all together or just upgrade to the forthcoming dvd system.

Let us know what happens!

Don't order a new tape without trying to reset your show computer's validation code. You can call tech support or the entertainment department to do this.

Good advice!

Listen to the man who knows the Show inside and out....!

Hope your Show is working better now! :)

We had the same problem a couple months ago. The battery in the Cyberstar died. I guess they only last 15 years or so..haha. When we powered on the system it would ask for a code. We'd have to call tech support to get a code (it is different every time you go to that screen).
