Technically this doesn't have much to do with PTT but am I the only one who'd want to hear the background song tape material (IE: the then-current pop/rock hits they played in between show tape material)? :)

It's not really anything exciting. It was just songs that were popular at the time. I forget what all was on one of them but to give you an example, one song was Kylie Minogue's version of the "Locomotion." You can go search around You Tube and watch pop videos and basically get the same effect. I don't recall what all they used but that was all they really were.

I know, but it would sort of add to the experience as if I was actually back at a CEC again. :) I guess it is kind of silly.

Basically, just think of all the bubble gum hits that were out around that time like Debbie Gibson, Tiffany, Menudo, The Jets, The Escape Club, etc. (I'm not saying those artists were necessarily on the tapes, but that was the kind of music that would have been on them). Essentially, think "Nick Rocks" for those of you old enough to remember the original Nickelodeon channel in the 80s. The problem with putting them on Radio Showbiz would be the copyright issue because you would be essentially broadcasting copyrighted music. If someone wants to really get an idea of what kinds of music was popular then and what you might have heard in your local Showbiz or Pizza Time Theatre (I think they were all called Showbiz around that time), just look up what pop songs were playing in the late 80s and make a playlist and you've got what you're asking for essentially.

Yeah I have about 17 or 18 of those SHOWBIZ PIZZA PROGRAM cassette tapes, so I can start sending them to you via AIM if you'd like to hear them in the order they played at Showbiz Pizza & Chuck E. Cheese. :smokin:

The playlists were identical in both restaurants since these Warner Music Group cassette tapes/Family Vision cartoon beta tapes were negotiated post merger... ;)
