well, i beat my record. i went to 6 cec's yesterday! and i have to say that the overall level of service is extremely disappointing. most of the cec's were dirty, employees were not friendly (most seemed like they wanted to go home/didn't really care), not one employee from 6 cec's mentioned "making magical memories", half of the kid check workers had no idea what EKAW was or that they were supposed to be giving out game cards (even though there were signs hanging right over them), and most stages were in mediocre to poor working condition.
however, the food was always good and the games were mostly in working order.
so the food and games are covered. what they need to fix is the stages and the service. especially the service! we always seem to focus on the stage when we talk about CEC. but yesterday I realized that we should be shifting our focus to the service. i think that really needs to be improved before fixing the stages. i think it should also be improved before running any further promotions to bring in more business.

Y.C.: What were the 6 CEC locations you visited in 1 single day?

norwalk, lakewood, cerritos (all 3 so close to each other its rediculous. lakewood, former sbp. norwalk next as road show cec, cerritos newest as studio c beta. ...btw, lakewood now studio c alpha)
then...
fullerton, garden grove, huntington beach (fullerton 3stage, garden grove 2 stage with sideways curtains, hb 2stage *perfect perfect perfect stage*!!!)
pics of norwalk and lakewood (http://www.hambyop.com/youngcalihottie/cec)... not from yesterday tho.
i also wanted to go to bell, but that place is just too crazy. i didnt feel like waiting over an hour for my pizza and battling crowds to play each game. although they do have the coolest interactive skeeball system with the cameras, dvds, and moving chucks.
i was going to go to la mirada as well, but ran out of time.

hey YCH,
LOL, if I visited 6 locations, I would go crazy!
Your right, service is poor, but if you think about, you would want to go home early, working at CEC really sucks, (thats why I decided to be an Assistant Tech (less work)). GM's constantly push our asses to work work work, bus bus bus, it sucks! So thats why you get poor service. :\
And, your going to rarely find a existing stage in working condition, 1,2,3 stages are so old now, that its costly for new parts, and sometimes you need new parts for the new parts(i.e. if you need a new cylinder, sometimes you need new hoses to go along) and thats really costly to CEC stores, plus GM's pay more attention to games besides the show...if Chuck isnt moving, and there is a game down, the GM would tell the Tech to go work on the game, because more people go to play games, not to watch the show... GM's like to put money more towards games, and not the show...and thats REALLY UNDERSTANDABLE!
Third thing here, YCH, is the Fullerton store the one with a 3 stage, with that non working Pizzacam that is also missing his Mask??
Is that store right by that one Outlet Disney Store???
If so, then I've been to that store a couple times, its a BIG store.

YCH do any of those Existing stage stores have their stages hooked up to DVD? I know Fullerton does.

man, i just really wish all of you would come out here and do a tour of our 6 stores. i know sometimes it may sound like i brag about work for these awesome stores and im not trying to be conceided in any way, i just hear some of these stories and i think, my god, i just would never see that happening in one of our stores - i mean, weve all had some shift that just get totally out of control, im not saying it doesnt happen sometimes but it is rare. i really think a lot of it is the managers. i mean, if you take our dm and top 2 sales gm's - they have a combined cec experience of over 60 years! even in our store, me and my gm combine for 18. weve seen it all and i think we know the only thing that DOES work is guest service. it doesnt matter how great the games or pizza are, if you dont treat the cm and guests right, everything else will just fall apart eventually anyway. i think its cause were kind of like everyone on here. we care about cec, not about making money but we know how important that mouse is. when you can think back like i can, remembering going every week, playing all the games, winning the prizes, having every party there - i never wanted to work anywhere else. i love my job, couldnt imagine doing anything else and you better believe, when i get my own store, it will be the best. and everyone better come and visit me!

well at least it is an extra backdrop. i dont think most kids even remember pizzacam anyways, so they dont know theres anything missing.
plus i noticed they store stuff in there. lol
