Hi Everyone:

Sometime last year I visited Chuck E cHeese's and noticed that there was no curtain on the stage with the robots???Did all Chuck E cHeese's get rid of the curtains and why???Also recently I saw a Chuck E Cheese commercial on tv that said that every kid is a winner. What exactly does that mean for Chuck E cheese????

THanks,
Kevin Eglin

I think I can answer your ?'s.

1. in a cost-cutting move CEC decided to eliminate the use of curtains on their shows. thus all new shows installed will have curtains BUT they are actuallly fake and do not move.

2. The Every Kid Is A Winner (EKAW) promotion is geared towards towards the younger age bracket. as the child walks up to Kid Check they receive a card to scratch off & whatever amount of tokens are on the card they can redeem that at the register.

Hope this helps.

You have to come come by more often Kevin, the curtains have gone the way of the reels. :(

So, If I am hearing this correctly - you can have a Chuck standing on the stage - dancing and a walk-around person in costume at the same time?

They've been doing that for years. They quit caring about that whole idea of CEC being the robot on stage and the illusion of the walkaround coming out from "backstage" to meet the kids. That's why the place sucks now.

Wow,
I agree - Disney would call that "Poor Show". they NEVER have more than one Mickey in the same place at the same time - because there is only ONE Mickey.
It's a darn shame - the kids know its only a person in a costume... but it does take away from the magic of it all.
Perhaps CEC should take a few lessons on how to run a family entertaiment center from Disney... The most important factors are:
(in order)
Safety
Courtesy
Show
Efficiency

It's also too bad so many of us are from all over the USA. Can you imagine how cool a Showbiz run by all of us would be?

The person on the stage dancing IS the walkaround. Some of the stage have a turntable that can hide the 'bot Chuck during LIVE & Birthday shows.

Man...how much you wanna bet they're not even using the turntable anymore. Especially if it's up to a little showroom attendant who makes $5.15 an hour. pfft don't hold your breath on this one. :lol

I have been saying this for YEARS Yorkmiss...as i am heavily into all aspects of Disney, particularly the Parks and how things run there.

CEC has been ripping off Disney for years now...it's even more obvious now to me. I really wish they would stop being a lame wanna-be and start getting serious about keeping the Magic alive. The whole "Two Chuck E.s" Syndrome drives my crazy..it's so unnessesary!

"Bad Show" indeed.....i see a lot of that at the resturants here now which is a shame. It was'nt always this way with CEC. They used to at least make some attempt to make things "Magical" for Guests..and i'll admit that there are still many stores that do....but sadly those attitudes seem to be dissapearing. We can only hope that those that really have the power, the INDIVIDUALS who are currently working as a CM, Manager, etc. at CEC don't lose there spark and continue to try and make someones day.

After all...it's the individual that makes the biggest impact most of the time..exspecially true at Disney. Think of those trips you have taken and remember times when a friendly Disney CM made your day in some special way. Bravo for Disney continuing to strive in this excellence. CEC could learn a LOT from this....

If only they would like the owners' before then did.....

West Allis (last couple times I was there) still uses the turntable to hide the 'bot, except there's no walkaround on the stage.
