There is a recent, illustrated guide that details all the cleaning products that should be used on the masks, etc. It came in a thin binder. It includes mask cleaning (latex and plastic), repair, cleaning the inside (denatured alcohol), etc.

I'll see if I can find the name of it and you can request it from the parts dept or maybe I can send you an electronic copy.

You talking the cyberamic robots used on the one and two stages or the 3 stage retrofits?

Oh, mine is for the 3-stage. Is that the one you're looking for?

No, I was just asking what kind of mask he was asking about. The 2 stage stuff is completely different from the 3 stage.

The best thing to use on the Cyberamic figure cosmetics/fur is Woolite Heavy Traffic carpet cleaner. It comes in a large blue spray can and can be found at many grocery stores in the cleaning supply isle. Trust me, it is the best and it's been CEC Standard since forever! Just spray it on, watch it foam up like crazy, let it sit for minute then wipe off in a circular motion. Makes the fur sparkling clean and like new. Always brush out the fur after it's dry for the full effect. A very important step.

3 Stage characters fur can be cleaned with this as well, but i would not recommened it for the face masks.

Costumes can be washed if you have another old one lying around you can put on in it's place while you take the other pieces to be cleaned. This can be done at home or by a dry cleaner. Always check with your Tech/GM before removing any peices from the store.

The spray foam is also a MUST for all costume characters too. It really is awesome stuff..every store should have this along with Simple Green for the inside of the walkaround heads.

I use "Simple Green." This stuff rocks! I use it for the shirt and mask of the bot character.
This will get off anything, whether its dirt, or even grease.
We buy like a ten gallon tub of it and toss it in our tech room, so everytime we need to refill, its there!

For those with Studio C Bots', i find that the hand soap used at most locations is the perfect cleaner for the silicon nose. It's also safe for it too...you have to be careful about what types of cleaners you use on it. Don't use anything to strong or anything with harsh chemicals ( bleach mixtures, or even table cleaner are no-no's).

For the Studio C Bot cloths...these can be machine washed but dry cleaning is usually better to extend the life of the material. Fur be cleaned with the spray on Woolite Carpet Cleaner ( Heavy Traffic brand in the blue can).

Remember to brush out all fur after cleaning...it's so important!

3 Stage characters can be cleaned in similar ways...but extra care needs to be taken if you still have the original latex masks on the characters. If they have the updated plastic versions, any mild cleaner will work good.

If you need to clean something other than the cosmetics, I *strongly* recommend the Mr. Clean "Magic Eraser". All you have to do is add a little water and the magic eraser takes over. Some scrubbing is necessary, but it will make a huge difference... an extra towel to wipe off all the grundge is good too. :D

Hey Nevin, I'd guess it's "dry clean only". Check if there's any labels inside. If in doubt, don't wash it at home- just in case.

Definately do not wash anything in the washing machine. That is guaranteed to ruin it permanently. The best bet is to wash it by hand in the sink and hang it out to dry. DO NOT DRY IT IN A MACHINE!

ALSO BE CAREFUL WHEN CLEANING THINGS BECAUSE I BELIEVE SOME THINGS ARE TREATED WITH FIRE RETARDANT CHEMICALS. OR IS THAT THE CURTAINS.

Chuck Rules -
you should have the Cleaning Guide for all stages "Guidelines and Tips for your 3-stage/CEC Stage/Studio C"? It tells you how to clean everything and what products to use. I'll see if I can get them to post it on the internal BBS.

In the meantime, if you give me your Store # I may be able to e-mail it to you (I scanned a copy).

chuckrules

my home store #448. I want to menition that I don't work for the CEC corporation so you would have to e-mail this scanned copy to me personaly at this address nevinleaser@aol.com

Just so there isn't any confusion... I think there is a misunderstanding. Nevin isn't a tech. He has a private collection so if you are sending it to "his" store he doesn't work there. I'm not sure if the two of you are connecting there or not so I thought I would make that point just in case.

DOH!!! Now I see (reading the posts closer).
You know, with all the characters and stuff you guys have, you could probably build a single, large CEC/SPP show with all the characters from Showbiz and Chuck E Cheese.

Hey, This is a REALLY HELPFUL TIP for you Techs and Assistant Techs out there. Now I don't know if you know this or not, but I discovered it the other day.
If you have permant marker stains all over your games/shows, find a DRY ERASER that matches the exact same color on the games, and start scribbling all over the already existed mark(s.) Then find a DRY PAPER TOWEL, and wipe away, and like who were suppose to make magic at CEC, the marks are gone!

Note* You must find a Dry Eraser marker that matches the marks on the games, not a permant marker, otherwise you will have major problems because you will be scribbling over permant marker over permant marker, it will just cause more problems!:rollin
