Well I've been trying to find out from various sources over the years who the voice actor was behind the King on the King '90 showtape(s)... Finally this year I found out from Scott Wilson whom I already knew was the producer and talent scout for this showtape, that the guys name is Frankie Cie!

So, after finding alot of nothing on the net about the man I finally found an old autographed picture of him on eBay... So I asked the seller if he had any info about the man and low and behold he happened to have a "new" still sealed album from this Elvis impersonator! So I snagged it and once I have it will be making it digital and will pass it out to whomever would like to check it out! ;)

The cool thing is that if you look at the playlist on this LIVE album(by the way) most, if not all of the songs from King '90 are on this album... even those NON-Elvis songs like "Runaway" and "Can't You See"! :-SS

Sorry guys I just loved this show as a kid and still do so this is a huge break(for me at least)

I agree, King '90 is great. He did a really good impersonation and obviously put some effort into it.

But there was one other V.A who did The King on the later King tapes (Still The King and King '95?), yes?

Agreed...

Still The King was just a combination of King '90 #1 & #2 so that was Frankie Cie there... However yes, there WAS another V.A. for King '95... I'm certain it was the same guy who was doing Munch at that point.

I'm pretty sure you're right RE: Munch. I don't like him nearly as much as Frankie. I wish they'd made more King showtapes with him. It's the second best thing to the actual Elvis tapes.

And for those who have yet to hear it; here he is:

P.S- Gabe; if you have any more King material you'd like to upload; I wouldn't complain. ;)

Frankie Cie should do a special King show/Elvis Tribute for Cheesevention 8 if he's still around...

Well he's probably not all that busy; so if an arangment could be made, that'd be pretty cool...

Well after a long wait(for me at least) I finally got the Frankie Cie album yesterday and made it digital and put it all up on Youtube(pizzacam2)

Have a listen to what later became King '90 ;)

Also several songs that didn't make it to King '90 as well!

They sound like they took the recordings he did for the albums, removed the fake audience applause, and added the lion growels! Hmm...

Actually it's not the same... The only stuff they used was the instrumentation tracks but he actually re-recorded the vocals in 1990 for the king stuff. There are subtle but OBVIOUS differences if you've listened to King '90 alot or all your life like Matt(Franchize) & I have... Some of the songs actually came out better when he re-recorded them... Probably had a better producer(Scott Wilson) and direction and even maybe just a better sound engineer for the King stuff.

I really wish they had made a 3rd King '90 tape and used the remaining songs from this album...
Especially HIS cover of "End Of The World", it kicks the Mitzi covers' ass! :))
