I laugh at his misfortune. Maybe they'll demote him to GM of a smalltown store, lol

we are now in the Northern Region, Don May is our Regional VP, I think his name is something Forsythe who is now in charge of the Midwest.

Don May will be around our district in 2 weeks and im looking forward to it.

Steven Hatton, until now has been "Director of Field Support", the description of which is unbeknowst to me. He's come to my store a handful of times both to lend advice to managers and for interviewing recruits. I was not present, but I heard there was an incident where he was at a booth on his laptop and fell asleep, right there at the table, sitting upright. I guess an attempt was made to get a picture of this great event, but was not to be had. Soo... He was a GM out in California, was the first person to successfully run 2 stores simultaneously... blah blah blah, now he has a seat on the board of directors. That is everything I know about Steven Hatton. Oh, and during SCS, he came in with a Hawaiian shirt that had an embroidered CEC logo! This, I was sure to comment on.

I have gone the opposite direction to Sungun. I was part of the northern region, and am now in the Mid-West region. Not bad geography for an Ontario,Canada store :)

What do people have against Randy?

i have never met the guy...

as far as what is left in the midwest...Mark Arnold who is the regional trainer is still there and i thought he was awesome. met him a handful of times and he was very cool, actually came in and worked with us and taught us stuff. didnt just come in and nitpick stuff that was wrong. if he comes to your store, youll enjoy him.

ontario in the midwest eh? thats almost as logical as pittsburgh being midwest. hey do you remember i met you once in your store about a year ago?

Yes, you mostly talked to one of the other managers. Both of us have now changed to the new Mississauga store that opened in January.

This now means there are 9 store in Ontario and 13 in Canada. Number 14 will be in Calgary in July.

About Randy now...

Randy is a cool guy...i have nothing against him personally. He was a fine RM but many GM's here feared him tremendously. I had some clashes with him myself but he always came back saying that he appreciated what i was trying to do as if he were testing me. I often spoke my mind on matters the other mangers ( GM included) would'nt dare to confront him with face to face. Randy was always respectful. He is known for being direct and also for being stern and demanding but this is what he is paid to do when you think about it since he is a RM.

I always got along fine with him as he knew all about who i was and we often talked about his days as GM at my old stomping grounds at the Brandon FL. store.

My comments above in my previous post were'nt ment to slate him.....i was referring to how it's wonderful this shakeup is happening in this District as God knows we need some serious changes up here. If that means we have to give up Randy then so be it.

I hope to see some changes in the next few months...big changes, this time for the BETTER instead of the LESSER as the case seems to have been across the board.

I worked with Randy when he first became a RM in the "south" he was a a major pain then. I remember him removing everything from the walls in the BOH and break room it was kinda funny.

Did he still do this up in the North??

I was glad to see him go.

I never had a problems with him when he would visit us in Canada.

I also think the reason that the Canadian stores are now part of the Mid-West region is that Randy already knows our slightly different ways of operating,

Don May was in our store (Mentor) on Wednesday. I already like him a thousand times better than I ever liked Gary Spring. Very easy to talk to and get along with.

Hi MunchJr....thanks for the story!

Yeah, Randy could be fiesty up here with things like you mentioned but he did'nt mess with our store when it came to decor BOH and such. I went nuts in Danvers the years i was there and covered the office, breakarea, and the costume room (aka "Danvers Party Room") with loads of PTT/CEC memorabilia and photos from my own collection. He always seemed to LOVE it and never once told our DM to ask me to take it all down. That came later when the "new" GM arrived before i left the Company. Randy and everyone else "important" who would come through from CECE always seemed to get a great kick out of seeing all that old stuff up. We had a understanding back then in this area that "Old" was "Cool". Sadly that was lost in the months after i left for good.

Randy was very strict with some stores up here, i know he made the Dm JC have many sleepness nights...he always seemed to excell in giving Managers of all fields a utter and profound FEAR. I never could get into that...as i was always cool with him. It was a interesting relationship to say the least. I remember one major event happened to me involving him....i was working in Methuen at the time and he arrived one late afternoon to grade the place and make everyone sweat. We had some issues but all in all he seemed happy with us. Later on i learned through my GM that in reality he felt i was'nt strong enough for my job which at that time came as a crushing blow. I was very hurt by this and ended up eventually leaving Methuen and returning back to Danvers with my tail between my legs. He certainly knows how to put you in your place.

It took some time for me to recover, but in all honesty i don't think i did after that event in some ways. That comment and the resulting changesand drama that was taking place at the stores back then pushed me to realize that there is far more to life then working for a giant Rat ( claiming to be a Mouse..mind you!).

I hope the District will now be able to breath a breath of fresh air and hopefully move onto a new era. God knows it needs it these days.
