View Full Version : WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT NO SHOW INTERMISSIONS?

So I was thinking about this...since CEC no longer uses curtains and the lights don't dim before the show starts anymore (from what I can tell) and coroprate has the excuse "seen that before" on the show and customers seem to only stay in the game room and the game room is getting larger and the showroom walls are going AND people really don't watch the show or can tell the diffreence between the show and the intermissions why don't they just have a continous show that never ends or a show that is about 2 hours long-loop style (or however long the current tape is)...that way there is something happeing 'over there where the broken down robots are. Also I think it would make the showroom area more exciting all the time. They don't have the game attraction lights start and stop...they are continious. Since they don't keep the show in great repair they should have the techs keep all lights replaced when burned out...what do you all think about this?

Well I think it'd be good and bad, for those who want to constantly see the show and the characters singing etc it's good. It'd be bad because they'd wear out even further and faster...and most techs can't even keep up with what they have now and they already let little problems snowball. :rolleyes

That's also wear and tear on the compressor that never gets a break. Also, those intermissions are good advertisement to sponsors.

I agree with Captslappy,& pizzacam on this all the way. and I have to say that our tech has been doing a terrific job with keeping on on our three stage show.:D

I'm all for ditching the stupid intermissions...i really am. They would'nt be so bad if there was actually something worthwhile to watch or be entertained by while the intermission is happening ....as it is now the intermissions are pointless as far as what plays during the break on the monitors. Sorry...today's "intermissions" suck in general. They are repeats of things we have already seen multiple times ( Veggie Tales anyone?) or it's blanant advertising for outside companies. They used to be fun CEC-related cartoons, skits with the mascots, or puppetry but now it's mostly filler. Sad but true in my opinion.

As far as intermissions serving a important purpose goes...yes, they ARE nessesary to keep the show running. A compressor that never gets a rest and robotics that are constantly in motion are not a good thing. This is why the Show has always has intermissions to begin with since the first PTT opened. It was a nessesity. In later years when video monitors were added to the Show Stages, the concept of playing videos during the breaks developed and has since grown. One has to wonder if the intermissions are overtaking the actual show material sometimes.....

OMG I LOVED the Intermissions with the puppets in the 90s. They were like..."finger" puppets of the CEC characters. I don't know if this sounds familiar, but I remember seeing these...finger puppets of Pasqually and Chuck, and Chuck said something like, "would you like to sniff my flower?" and then when Pasqually did, he blew up. Then Chuck laughed, and the monitors went blank, and the curtains opened for another show. It was awesome. Ah, memories....:D
