Yes you have heard it hear folks, I have finally gotten a job at CEC! The GM said to me today he is making room for me in his schedule, and I am going back on Friday at 3 o'clock to check more about this(very croweded today, also saw a bit of the new show) so I'm going to check what I'm in for.;) :eek :D

Yeah, I won't Give up, but for now I am not gonna focus on hoping, just until something interesting sparks to me, I'm just happy as a guest there, too bad I can't get cool inside info unlike all the rest of you can since you guys made friends so easily with the CM or Managers, it seems up here, no one can stand a week working, or I just can't apply myself as a fan...its too different to to people up here.:\

i had that same problem i appied in September 03 and i didnt get the job until January 04.

hey mat, what happened? did you get hired or are they saying theyre waiting or something? right now were selectively hiring, to get those kiddies ready for busy season. we have to do it slow thou, since we dont really have the sales right now to throw a bunch of labor $$ at training new cm. but, we need some, ones that will be killer ready for 2nd week in jan. so, its like a double edge sword. so were hiring like one every 2 weeks. its going good so far.

Well they were suppose to make room, and I was suppose to get a call, of coarse, just like I thought, I'm not getting one. I don't know I mean I'm probably still on the waiting list, but by now I know it's gonna take some time.

Hey, look at me, I had to write more than onehundred applications to get a place of training. But at last I could make it!

Umm, would it be a good idea to make a phone call there? I mean, if you are calling, they possibly would see that you are really interested in getting the job there.

I tried for 5 months to get into the local CeC here, and the manager said he needed to get in touch with the DM, but nothing ever "came back" from the DM, so he couldnt hire me.

I still would love to work there, since I have been an arcade tech before (cyberstation, which is a Namco Arcade, and I owned my own Game store) and enjoy it thoroughly.

Sorry to hear this Mat...but look at it this way...

You may not like CEC as much as you do now from a fan standpoint once you get a taste of what the Company is REALLY all about in 'the inside".

I'm not trying to discourage you....we both know how much you have been wanting this job. Just realize that everything happens for a reason, and fate is simply delaying your employment to set up the ultimate time for you to join in.

Like i've said in our past talks, getting a job at CEC involves doing a LOT of things you would probably find boring and annoying ( cleaning, cleaning, and MORE cleaning...and a lot of mindless busywork). However, there is a joy that comes from working someplace where you have the chance to make someone's day: a child, a parent, a group. CEC is just such a place, if you are lucky to get into a store that has the RIGHT attitude and the RIGHT focus. I was lucky....i hope it works out for you too and that WHEN you DO end up in "B", things will be in place to help you shine like the Star we know you are!
