Convict busted at Chuck E. Cheese
By James Downing

LEOMINSTER-- Leominster police arrested a Level 3 sex offender at Chuck E. Cheese, where 40 children where celebrating birthday parties, at the Mall at Whitney Field on Friday night around 5:30, according Sgt. Michael Ciccolini.

Ciccolini said that Raymond Guimond had recently been released from prison and was on lifetime parole. The conditions of his parole were that he had to wear an ankle bracelet and could not be around children. He wore the ankle bracelet at the time of his arrest, according to police.

Guimond, 48, had been living at 366 Marshall St. in Fitchburg before his arrest. His information was not on the wall in the lobby of the Fitchburg police station where all the other offender's information is on Saturday. He was not listed on the state's sex offender registry's online database either.

Sgt. Ciccolini said an anonymous caller tipped off Leominster police about Guimond's presence because they recognized him as a sex offender.

The state's Web site defines Level 3 sex offenders as those who are the most dangerous and most likely to reoffend.

Guimond was eating dinner when police arrived on the scene, Ciccolini read from the arrest report. Guimond admitted to officers that he was a sex offender and had recently been released from jail, he said.

A witness on the scene claimed to have observed Guimond taking pictures of children as they played. Ciccolini said the police impounded the camera as evidence.

Leominster police contacted Guimond's parole officer, who identified Guimond as a Level 3 sex offender. The parole board immediately issued an arrest warrant, and Guimond was taken into custody, Ciccolini said.

Chuck E. Cheese's manager and mall management refused to comment on Saturday. When the Sentinel & Enterprise attempted to interview Chuck E. Cheese customers leaving the store, the manager and a mall security officer asked the reporter to leave the mall.

For crying out loud man! This location has been nothing but trouble since it first opened up a couple of years ago!!

For those new here, Leominster is the only 'Smalltown" CEC location in MA. It is literally a 20 min ride from our top sales location here in Worcester ( that in itsell makes no sense ...who chooses these "Smalltown" sights anyway? Way to go CECE!)

I know the GM who works there...i assume she is still there...but then again who can be sure at this point? It's a shame that this location has been having these media issues. It brings the name down and makes one wonder why on Earth they even bothered to open this location.

I also find it very odd that of all the CEC's we have here in MA, Leominster ( the newest location) seems to get all the bad press! You would think it would be one of the other locations, closer to the more urban areas ( Everett anyone? lol!) or the far more older stores that have a more 'lived in" clientel.

Oh well.....sad to hear this news. I feel for the people working at that Store.

Maybe CEC should let castmembers know who these sex offenders are, so they can be removed from the store immedietly.

Nice idea, but the chances of that actually happening are pretty slim unfortunately.

Would be nice though....

yeah, most cast members can't remember the 4 points of pre-bus, nevermind being able to visually identify every sex offender in the municipality
