I recently aquired this nifty 6 ft. long SPP sign, and I was wondering does anyone remember where exactly these were hung up? My thoughts are either the gameroom, above the pick-up window, or even outside the building...anyone know?

Niiiice! Glad to see you posted about it. Hopefully Travis, Menutia or someone can figure out where this most likely was mounted at SPP... My money's on it being outside or above the pick up window.

It looks like something that would've been inside- I can't imagine a need for it to be outside since the light-up sign would've been out there.

Perhaps it was hung above the merch counters or at the entrance of the showroom. I know that's where some of the CEC stores hung the sign pictured below.1463

Haha yeah, I could barely fit this in my room but I made it! Well, it's a wooden sign, typical material like the "horizontal" SPP sign a lot of you guys own, but I've never seen this in ANY SPP pics at all...the only one I've seen is the one you showed me Gabe from Fort Walton Beach where it was outside...the only problem is from that pic I can't tell if it's the same sign I have...

Yeah the one outside in that pic I have looks like wood too but it looks like it was thicker wood that had the logo carved into it... but IDK the pic is kind of small etc... I need to go through my emails and try to remember who sent those to me cause it was someone from the forum I believe. :-?

See the only thing I question about that is the size...We're talking 3' x 6', so it's quite large, at least for an indoor sign. On the other hand it's made entirely of wood, so having it outside, I would assume weather conditions would somehow tamper with it.

Anyone at all that has info on my sign? My biggest guess is it was hung outside, but I'd really love to know more...

if this really was hung outside, i wonder where it would've been. the onlyt version of that sign i've seen hung outyside had three signs, SHOWBIZ in the center PIZZAV on the left of that and PLACE to it's right mind you this was the Cedar Falls,IA and tha sign i mentioned was still on the building post-CU

My guess is it might have hung in an entry way(hallway) going into the store.

Yeah I mean for all we know this sign could've been inside in a place we can't imagine because it was only at your location... which of course will REALLY make it hard to figure out without a picture of it inside your SPP...

I did indeed see it...thank you very much! I knew with it being made of wood hanging it outside would be a little odd, but that's the only other place I've seen a sign as big as mine hung up. Thank you very much for the video conformation!! Does anyone know what ShowBiz that video is from?

The ShowBiz Pizza in La Crosse, WI had signs like this in an interior corridor leading from the outside mall storefront to the main entrance inside. Since this was a strip mall store, it had a unique layout. Where free-standing ShowBizes (and most mall S.P.P.s) had a box-shaped foyer between the two sets of double doors, La Crosse had this elongated hallway with the wooden ShowBiz signs on the walls and the "Now Appearing" poster boxes that were normally outside on most ShowBizes. I'm not sure what they did with this unique setup when it converted to C.E.C. in '91.

Agreed! However I've found that if you DO know alot about both places it's a great "in" with these guys cause they feel as though they're talking with someone who's worked for the company just as long.
