For the first time, CEC has brought the old characters into the light! Check out the new page on the official site:

Wolfman Zack? Hollywood Chickens? Why haven't I heard of these guys?

Someone there needs spell-check! (Too bad they do not know how to spell the names of their characters... ESPECIALLY their CURRENT CHARACTERS!!!)

Actually, now that they have used these names, in print on their website, they really can claim the copyright ownership.

Wow! This is the first time they have acknowledged them in years. Darryl has talked about the Hollywood chickens for a long time. Now I see the ref to them so they must have existed. Can't help but wonder though if someone took the info from this site. True though, now that they have officially listed them they kind of do claim ownership to them again.

well I am glad they acknowledge their history as almost all restaurants have some sort of history about the company on their site either for investors or students but I am surprised there is no reference to ShowBiz Pizza Place or Billy Bob...maybe they want this under wraps...great that Veganova and all of you have contributed so much so folks can still get the info.

I don't know if this changes anything or not, but for a long time they basically disowned past characters and didn't recognize them as trademarks. They didn't seem to care if the Warblettes, King, Madam Oink etc went on Ebay or if those characters were used elsewhere. One thing I can promise you though is you will never see the retired characters make any kind of a comeback especially in robotic form.

This is a amazing turnaround....

I'm stunned as i never saw this coming ( at least on the current official website anyway..) and it's VERY encouraging to see them finally mention some of the past.

They should...and in a way it's about time too as the 30th Anniversary hits next May and i know in the past i have been contacted to contribute photos to a 'project" the Company was compiling for possible future release.

Personally it would be neat to see some sort of thin book or other sort of publication released that cover PTT/CEC history properly. There's no reason really why they should'nt....except maybe they are'nt fully aware of there being much interest outside of the die hard fans like us. Still, it would be a neat additional item that could be sold for a limited time at locations, or simply a GM giveaway/Convention goodie.

Hmmm....

I'm really surprised to finally see this stuff being "released' to the general public. This can only be GOOD NEWS folks.....

I have now read the 'history' page and it's brief.

I also have the feeling that the majority of the info ( particularly the first two paragraphs) were lifted directly off of this site's History Section !

Ha ha...how ironic.......:lol

Other then them talking a bit about their history I dont see this going anywhere beyond that. I don't see them using the likenesses of old charcters in print or elsewhere ever again.
