Just wanted to know if anyone knew what location all of the CEC commercials are shot at. They are very bright and all that and thought that was real neat.

I don't think they're shot in an actual CEC. They're probably shot in a studio.

Why would CEC go through all that trouble to get more games and all that stuff just for a commercial?

Because to shoot in an actual CEC they'd have to close it to the public for at least a day, and they'd be very limited as to where they could place the cameras due to the walls. Shooting in a studio gives them better control over everything (lighting, placement of games, etc) and they don't have to close an actual CEC.

With all the cec's around, I dont think closing one for a day is a big issue. Expically on a monday or something like that.

Losing any money in any one store for an entire day is a pretty big deal. The studio allows them to place things where they want so they look the best on camera.

So where is that at? Like what city, state, etc.

EDIT: Oh duh. Nevermind. Any pics of that store NOT from commercials?

Yeah, I remember hearing this a while back - does anyone know if the store looks like that normally or if it's just made up for the commercials? I've always been curious about this.

the store gets dressed up and shifted around for commercials, a lot of things are placed into commercials for visual effect (glittery drapes, skee ball lanes w/ different colored targets) they all don't exist in real life. It's just another CEC

And in terms of "shutting down for the night:" In the television commercial industry espescially, working overnight on a job is not uncommon at all. A store might close at 9. They get in at 9:30, setup from 10-12, shoot from 12-5. It's entirely possible. Things brought in just for the commercial would just turn into more compressed shooting, and a longer setup. If a crew is really good, and the shoot is planned well, they can shoot a 30 spot in three hours easy.

Nope - read what PuroMax posted. The store is dressed up for filming.

While that scenario would be possible, you haven't taken into account that the actors are children, who are governed by labor laws far more strict than any union. The store must close for shooting, I really can't see a way around that.

I might go there the next time I go to a Yankee game. Does the Studio C have a curtain?
