Here's a vid I just came across on youtube that I thought I would share. Not sure if you guys have already talked about this since I havent been here in a long time.
Its a bday video. If you look closely youll notice chuck is nowhere to be seen on the stage. Then when the bday song is over, the characters "sleep" for a few seconds while chuck rotates back into view. Then they seem to go into the random sequence.
This makes me wonder if the video is recent... since the characters seem to go into random sequence after the song. And curtains don't close. ...or did this type of stage even have curtains?
If it is recent, does that mean the pause after shows still have the programming for the turntable? or was it because bday star had the old programming for it? does anyone know where this stage is?
here's the vid...

Yeah it's old footage for sure. The guy was 32 when he had his bday there. He is 38 now not to mention those cups and the sticker on the bday stand is old school for sure. So I'm guessing the curtians may not have been working at the time that footage was shot.
There are still stages out there with the working turnable so I still have to program it every time we produce a new live show.

Never seen a stage with a turntable. What do they usually put on the other side?

The info I got was taken right from the profile.
The walkaround character is on the other side of the turntable. It's mainly used for the live's and Bday shows.

I believe the West Allis, WI store still uses the turntable.

There is also still one here on the East Coast in NJ.
Aaron ( CEC in NJ) would be able to elaborate more about that location.
The turntable was a neat idea the Company came up with back in the early 90's to try to incorporate the walkarounds appearence into the animatonic show. It also solved the "problem" we all know about ( the dreaded "Two Chucks" syndrome..lol). It was a very neat way to jazz up the Showroom and added a great buzz of excitement as well.
Sadly many that were installed back then have been taken out due to mechanical issues. As Mike said, there are luckily still a few left in the field and it would be VERY cool to compile of list of these locations so fans can have a chance to see one in action before the become extinct.
Anyone else know where one may be?

New London, CT, and Middletown, NJ. Those are just two I can remember at the moment.
The turntable was only supposed to turn when the curtain was closed. That way kids would think both the walkaround and the bot were real.

it was a great concept. Nowdays they don't seem to care that there's two Chuck E's out at the same time. Sad day.

Well; they don't much care about the show; so I guess the Double Chcuk thing just isn't a big deal for them.
"Mommy, why is Chuck E. on stage and dancing over there at the same time?"
"That's the real Chuck E. on stage- the one who's dancing is his brother Diva E. Cheese".

The show means absolutely nothing to modern day CEC. This can be seen in the production values of the show tapes and just the overal lack of care with the animatronics. CEC is no longer a place to be entertained by an animatronic band, it's a place to endlessly plug quarters into a half broken game just so you can win some expired cotton candy. It really is sad and dreadful. It's like watching a dear old friend slowly die from the youthful person they once were.
Hopefully management wakes up or everyone gets fired and people with real imagination and ingenuity take over.
