One Stage store after a remodel...

Well, I've been transferred to another CEC. #553 Akron Ohio. Well, this store seems pretty cool so far, it's had the remodel of remodeling with the purple walls and new salad bar trimmings, and oh yea, new games of course. The coolest part is that they left the one stage there and didn't put in a studio C. It's kind of cool that this is the second store I've heard of with a big bangin remodel that has left their one stage instead of getting Studio C. Mentor Ohio #743 also has retained their one stage. It's kind of cool that I've worked at both.

It was assumed ages ago that when the new Phase remodel came through, all Cyberamic stages were going to be gutted and replaced with Studio C "Beta"s. Hearing your story gives me a new hope that perhaps this is not the case!

I know a while back i heard from within that Store's that had taken care of there Cyber-Stages would not get the upgrade as a cost-cutting maneover. Originally all older stages ( including the coveted 3 Stages) were to be trashed and Studio C's were slated to take over the world...at least that is what we were being told when i still was involved with the Company.

Recent remodels seem to have supported that up until about a year or so ago when reports were surfacing that those locations that had good shows in working order got to keep them regardless of the remodel. I was very happy to hear this, and reading your news now solidifies this "rumor".

Awesome news .....as there is now hope, particually in these parts, that our many Cyber-Stages will survive a little longer!

The cec in Toledo OH 5077 Monroe st. still has the 1 stage after the remodel. they too have the vcr still. this was as of 6/18/06.

Toledo Ohio 5077 Monroe st. still has the Helen outfit that they had when it was installed. They have the c shirt and shorts for cec though. :D no word on dvd upgrade.

Hey CEC743, have you seen the pics of the Mentor, Ohio store from the early '80s? It's especially nice when a store like THAT gets to keep the one stage cause most likely their top halfs are probably the original PTT bots like our stores here did. I recently found out the Military Dr. store here in San Antonio, Tx (#417) had Dolli, The King and The Little Shavers! :eek

Actually the Mentor CEC from the 80's was shut down sometime around Concept Unification, and I think it was definitely done by 1991. I don't have the exact date on that. The current Mentor CEC was opened up in 98. Rumor has it the show was put together with spare parts b/c it was the last one stage to be given to a a new store. It is very simplistic compared to other one stage shows control units.

Yes, that story has been around since the day we opened that place back in '98. I have always believed it. Not a day goes by that we don't find something new to fix on that thing. Even now, 8 years later, there is still either some screwy wiring or faulty parts in various parts of it. But thankfully, our wink does work, with spotlight. So it's not ALL bad.....;)

The Canton MI. locaton store #080 is recieving the purple package really soon and they too will keep the one stage. they just upgraded to dvd, replaced the helicopter motor and replaced the tv's in the game room...

Our helicopter light was replaced as of last year. and both our monitors in the game room where replaced also. We haven't received the Purple Package yet.:\ This would be store location 1000 Lehigh Valley Mall. Whitehall PA. 18052. Store #448.:D
