A walk through a new Chuck E. Cheese store in 1983.
I think we had only been open a week.
Very special appearance by my general manager Mr. Joe Avoledo.

Ok,

This is pretty awesome, I've always wanted to see more footage of PTT in it's "prime". God, I miss the 80's...

Keep the videos coming, they are much appreciated!

I liks how the GM calls the camcorder "one of those video things" being that they were so uncommon back then

Yeah.
How do you like the bench he's sitting on?
The office chairs had not even arrived.

I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy! Man...that blew me away! Sooooo cool! :eek :eek I really miss the 80's now. To think Donkey Kong Jr, Popeye, Burgertime were all new games...like a PTT with Soul Caliber or something! :eek

Hello, can you tell me if this PTT location was a franchise or a corp location? How many PTT where in the Phoenix area? Why did it (they) close? It seemed that only the survivers where the two Phoexnix (Meza) franchised SBZ locations.

Because didn't Pizza Time go bankrupt...and once the dust settled lots of store were closed? Something like that...

We were franchises.
We were doing very well.
Once Showbiz took over operation of corporate, they decided to DOUBLE the royalty payments franchises had to pay.
Our owners took a look at it and decided it would no longer be profitable enough.
I closed down the Tempe store and packed all the Cyberamic equipment for a store in Mexico.
I was supposed to install it in the Mexico store, but our owners didn't think I should have a worker's permit. They said I was going there for "vacation".
I declined since I had no desire to spend time in a Mexican jail. LOL!!

The Phoenix store was sold a few months later to Pistol Pete's.
They cleared out all of the Chuck E. Cheese stuff and kept me on as a tech for a couple months.
After I got their games up to 100% in 5 stores, they laid me off.
They were real sweethearts. NOT!!!

Pistol Pete's, it's owners and back stabbing managers should all burn in he.....
But I digress..... >D

One of our franchise owners, Angeleo Orphan, was a dentist in California. He also owned a store there. San Jose? Can't remember.
It was so long ago!
