I've being getting Firefox crashing again and again whilst trying to listen (it will show first track name and then crash upon trying to play), and tried it again with Internet Explorer 8 and got the same result for Radio Showbiz. I'm running Windows XP, just like I did the last time I tried, with success, last December.

Yeah; I have this problem from time to time too- it will play the "intro" audio (or; most of it) and then just stop and not play the first actual song. Must be a problem with their streaming software.

The recent issue with the music rotation was caused by the playlist. It has had problems locking up the station's server, but that has been resolved with recent updated.
The recent service issues were partially caused by the "Patriotic Playlist" that was in rotation for the summer. Our station program director has spent a LOT of time rebuilding the playlists and adding new shows and new songs. Check the new broadcast schedule then tune in and listen for the new material.
"Is the station down?" What to listen for: The station is programmed to play the Radio Showbiz Jingle then switch to the "playlist" in progress. If you only hear the opening jingle, then nothing - there really isn't anything you can do. There is a "radiodown" e-mail address you can send a note to just to let us know it has crashed.

Ah; okay. Thanks to everyone who put together the playlisst by the way- I'm enjoying Radio Showbiz a lot more than any of my local "real" radio stations.

I'm having problems too, and I used to not. I can't get the plugin to play it from the page so I open the link on itunes and it had worked until like, today. Now it just does the opening, and a glitchy sound, and then silence o.O

Yup, that's the server again. Message sent to request a reboot. Patience please, this might take a while.

Well, it's back up now, but seems to be broadcasting gibberish. Hope it can be fixed, cause I like listening to the showtapes. Especially the Afterhours show

Okay folks, just got NEW problems accessing Radio Showbiz. After loading it in WinAmp (great program, http://www.winamp.com ) It brought up the main 'Radio Showbiz' track, but then wouldn't play anything else, although it would display the track names. Tried this on the Showbiz website directly via its own player, and same results. I've tried a bunch of other Shoutcast ( http://www.shoutcast.com ) stations and didn't find this problem.

The day you stop complaining that it's down?
In all seriousness, 9 times out of 10 we know when its down and work as quickly as possible to get it back up. It isn't always as easy as it seems.
The best you can do to help is to email the address below and politely let us know the problem.

That was bizarre... something definitely went haywire there. I just popped it on in Chrome using the web player and it sounded like some sort of alien encoding. I hit the reset switch and it seems to be playing fine now. Never heard it do that before. :(

Yeah, I have noticed you've said it hasn't worked for you the past couple of times.
Some quick questions:
How are you trying to listen to the station? Through the embedded software on sp.com? If so, what kind of web browser are you using?
Have you tried listening to it through your media player like Winamp, Quicktime, or Window Media Player?
Also any other info you can add that might be helpful would be great. I'll look into a solution for you.

I've been trying to listen to it through the embedded player on the site, using Firefox and Chrome.
I haven't tried to listen to it on any media player before tonight, and it does work on VLC Media Player. I'm listening to it right now. :)

yay, so problem solved?
Or is listening to it on VLC an inconvenience to you/rather listen to it on your web browser?

The biggest problem with Showbiz Radio is we have a Stonehenge Monument in danger of being crushed by a dwarf...

Just remember the email is supposed to be instead of posting here. That goes directly to Travis so he knows when to reset the system or look further into it. With the semi-regular problems of the radio hosting service, replying here only floods the forum with near identical posts. When writing to radiodown@showbizpizza.com (radiodown@showbizpizza.com), as Jeff had mentioned earlier in this thread, please include as much info as possible: specific problem with the station, the method you're using to listen, etc. That will help to narrow it down and make it easier to find a solution. Thanks
