Speech on the history of SPP and CEC

We have to do an informative speech in one of my classes. She wants us to do it on something we like and to be able to inform people of something they may not know much about. So I decided to do it on this.
She said that I can do it, but there will be an issue of it not really reaching the audiance because no one will probably know what I'm talking about or something. But isn't that the point of an informative speech?
I'm going to prove her wrong that it can be done. I think I will probably need a lot of visual aids so I'm thinking of making some sort of slideshow. I'd like to show a video too but she said its not a good idea unless it's really short.

So far I think after the introduction and thesis, I will start on what the resturants were and some background about the animatronics. Then I will talk about their founders. And then I will talk about the merge and how the resturants are faring today.

I will probabaly update this as I work more on it. But if anyone has any suggestions (Maybe what I could do to make it really work, or if they happen to come across a good source that I have not found yet) I'd be happy to hear it.

Remember, just because it is a Speech, doesn't mean it has to be a boring narrative. Use Props, A/V and anything else you can gather to help convey your message (Unless you are banned from doing so in this class). I agree, nothing LONG in the A/V department, since she is grading you, not the videotape. Start with the video to grab their attention and take it from there.

Introduce the "RAF" and play a clip of one of their more well-known cover songs. Use a laptop and/or projector to show a video clip of the band in action. Then immediately relate the RAF to your audience by showing them how the RAF characters became CEC... They will most certainly identify with those characters. Flashback to the beginning of the story and go forward.

Relate how these "Band Members" are just like real live people in a modern band. (Pick a popular group that your classmates will understand, and tell them, "you might have a poster of Ricky Martin, Hannah Montana, or Rihanna on your bedroom wall, in the 1980's kids like us actually had posters of these robots on their walls and were playing their records over and over!" -- ( NOTE: YOU better pick some bands and singers that are winners!)

Unless you are required to, don't bore everybody with facts. Facts are meaningless unless your audience wants to hear them. Listing the names of the founders and the chemical compound of the latex masks will be your death.

Their "revolution" is the key. Robotic shows and video games were as trendsetting then as the latest Apple iThingy and going to a 3D movie are today.

Relate to the audience and they might actually pay attention... (and learn something too~!)

I'm done with the prepariation and will have to give the speech tomorrow. The teacher is actually videotaping all the speeches, so It will be filmed, but I don't really feel comfortable showing it to everyone xP
