I feel the need to show these off, haha. I recently got a set of Warblettes, had to drive 8-9 hours to pick them up. The Warblettes were one of the characters that got me into CEC in the first place, so it's really an honor to own them. They're a lot bigger than I ever imagined they'd be! The old wooden board they're sitting on is 2x3 feet and they're 40" tall, which is about to my stomach from the floor.

I took these pictures the night I took them home. I've since vacuumed the tons of dust from their hair, straightened their hair out, cleaned their eyes, and fixed the middle Warblette's crooked jaw. I still need to completely clean them and get that white fur looking white again.

Does anyone know if the wooden bead thing around them is original? The other side of it is a chain attached with really rusted safety pins. Something tells me it's not original. And are they supposed to be covered in a ton of glitter? Haha.

They wore plastic bead necklaces and each bird had separate strands.

I knew that much. There's still fragments of the necklaces hot glued to them. I was talking about that big wooden thing that's hanging around them.

Just so you know, I bought my current half body CEC from the same guy. You have the Warblettes that went with him. I already had a set which is why at the time I didn't buy these. It may not be the original seller (he may have sold them to someone else who resold them) but I recognize that set and they were from the same person I got my CEC from.

And I have the Clapper Board from that show. The wood necklace is not original.

Ah, alright. I didn't think so. Do you guys happen to know what location these came from? They've got stickers on them with numbers, and a date (don't remember the month, year is '81), but unfortunately doesn't say the location they ended up at.

Are these the 1977-1979 or 1980-1981 versions?

No, the 1977-1980 CECPTT Warblettes in the first CECPTT show wall portrait format where in a cage and not as wall portraits.

I doubt the early version survived to be honest. I think these are the only versions left and there are not a whole lot of them left.

Although the pics I have seen of the earliest Warblettes don't show them in a bird. They looked like the ones pictured on the back of the menu with Crusty and in the early comic book where they meet Mr. Munch. If you look closely in the brochure for the Franchize you'll see them in the background along with the portrait-style Foxy Colleen. Of course, we haven't really come across a picture of the show in the store with Crusty so maybe they were indeed in a cage.

I once got to hang out with Robin Williams for about 20 minutes...he's actually rather subdued, heh.

And so glad ya were able to get these? My friend lives somewhat close to the seller's area, so I was thinking of trying to win em' but glad I didnt bid on em! Man, San Diego to all the way out there must have been a long long trip:( I wish the mechanisms had come with em. I actually prefer black Warblettes to the later color ones.

I'm jealous! >:I Haha, I love Robin Williams!

Yes it was a long LONG trip, but so worth it. It was really fun, and we got to go to 3 different CEC's, each special in their own way (Sun Valley- Road Stage, Visalia- 3stage, San Jose- HUGE).

The Warblettes have all the parts (I believe). I just need a control system for them.

I looked closely at your pics and they seem complete. Just remember, unless you modify it and use different valves it is only a 2 movement character as the beaks are all in tandem (not independent) but you chould make a really cool show with them with a little work.

You're an artist Andrea! I think if you can make a 5 foot tall bat walk-around look cute you can do it.
