Hello Everyone! I know it's been a few years since we've been on the forum, but we're back and with a new picture to share with you! Here's a 2010 updated picture of the CEC Babies! We've been very busy over the last few years trying to remodel them, so they look more like their Adult versions! The main one who we knew really needed a make over was Baby Jasper! So with the help of my friend IsabellaPrice and her amazing drawing of Baby Jasper I stumbled upon while looking through the fan art section, she was kind enough to give us permission to us her design of Baby Jasper to use for our cartoon. THANKS AGAIN ISABELLA! lol So anywho! We then thought " Since we are remodeling Baby Jasper, why not do the same with the rest." So this is what we got. Hope you all like it!!!

(Here's what they look like now!!!!) 10671068 (And here's what they use to look like!)

As you can see, we changed Baby Helen's pigtails from black and white to just yellow! Baby Chuck E is pretty much the same, just less shaggy looking. We made them all pudgier than almost pencil thin in the past. There is also a Baby Munch one on the way soon as well! So now I know most of you out there are like "What happened to the CEC Babies cartoon you guys were suppose to make, LIARS!!!" lol :)) well....We're not lying, we have not even begun to give up on this project!!! My brother has been taking professional animation classes as I have been taking a Creative Writing Course in High School that has really improved my story writing for the CEC Babies Cartoons. We have also recently received a new animation software called "Toon Boom" which I heard has been credited for making numerous well known cartoons such as Spongebob Squarepants. We also purchased a new printer/scanner to allow us to scan pictures on to the animation software to color it and animate it. WE ARE VERY SERIOUS NOW! We decided to take a fresh start to the project because to tell you the truth, back then my brother and I weren’t really prepared for the animation process like we thought we were. So right now, I have finished 3 stories and my brother and I have already started storyboarding 2 stories. We are also thinking how we can plan to get Voice Actors to voice the Babies and the Adults, whether we want to hold an open casting call here or just us do it all on our own. Lol we’ll see! We have not scheduled a certain date for the episode to release, but the year we are setting our eyes on is early 2011! Also I have been thinking that Pasqually should be older than the other Babies, like 10 years old. (Sorry if this displeases Pasqually fans out there...tell me what you think and I'll probably change my mind, I just did that because he really didn't fit in with some of my stories! So I decided to leave him as the character the babies could always go to for advice. Let's see what you guys think!

Phew! Ok I think I caught up a few years. lol Let me know how you all think the picture is, there are more to come!

P.S: Once again, I want to thank IsabellaPrice again for her permission for us to use her Baby Jasper design! WOOOHOO!!!! :)

OMG That pic is really cool! How long will the story run?

CEC Babies

I plan for the series to run a maximum of 10 episodes (depending on our production time). If it looks good, I'll talk to my brother about doing 5 more! I've even finished a x-mas story for CEC Babies special back in 09! :) If any of you have any cool ideas to share to make the series a lot more interesting, tell me!

I totally want to see a doppelganger somewhere in the series if you haven't thought of that already. It's looking fantastic from the previews. I'm sure it'll be really awesome once you start making these!

Say, if you ever want to show the parents' faces feel free to use my designs on them, unless you've already got some ideas in your mind/on paper. It's awesome you named Chuck's dad Nolan, because I figured it was a no-brainer name for him. Great minds think alike, hehe. ^_^

LOl this is soooo funny Vega III CEC, I saw your drawing of Chuck's parents in the past and said that it would be swell if he would let us use those designs! Yes we would love to use these designs!!!! Their perfect!!!!! Thank You soo much! You just saved us a lot of character modeling time!!!

Glad to be of some help there! Little known fact is I'm a girl. I've disguised myself well. :)) It's totally cool though. It wasn't really difficult or time-consuming for me because I'd mulled the idea over in my mind for some time, and looked at Chuck's designs over the years to come up with something feasible. Feel free to change what they're wearing if you don't like the clothes, I certainly wouldn't mind. :) I'm not exactly a fashion designer or anything, haha.

Oh yeah that's right! I remember those paintings that were hung up in the toddler zone! To me personally, and no disrespect to the artist who did them because that's not the kind of person I am but to me they weren't very good. Helen looked a lot like the adult version just in a toddlers body. Chuck E face looked scrunched up. Once again no disrespect, but that is just my opinion. Oh and for Pasqually in the series...we need to know what you all think because we were thinking of just letting him be older than the babies (like at least 8 years of age). He would be sort of the person the babies can get information from when things are going wrong. Please don't any Pasqually fans get angry with me! lol If any body feels differently about this please tell me. He was originally 5 years old.

Espescially if pizza ovens get involved. It'd be better to let an adult handle the oven.

Right with past issues and people using the RAE without his permission, I would definitely recommend writing a very nice email and including a link to what you've done with CEC Babies. By the way, I wanted to commend you on the short clip of Helen. I'll admit, I've been very skeptical about how this was going to come out and if it was ever going to actually come together. From the little bit of what I saw I thought it was really well done and am looking forward to seeing more. I can't wait for a full ep. I really hope Aaron will give you the green light to do the same thing with the Rock-afire Explosion.

Hey everyone! We finally posted the CEC Babies Pilot Episode out on You Tube! Hope you guys like it!

Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbYnW1rWn_0

This is our first time ever doing a cartoon for a minute in a half. So please excuse any errors we may have. lol This was a project for my brother "Austin" in his Summer Animation program. Time was running out and some of his co- workers had to help ink some of the scenes. But in doing so, kind of made the out lining look...how can I say this nicely.....oh! I've got it..."Crummy" lol.

Our NEW CEC Babies Episode entitled: "That's the way the Cookie Crumbles" is in production as we speak!

Baby Chuck E and Jasper are voiced by Daniel Williams and Baby Helen is voiced by Alyssa Traylor.

How you guys like it! =)

P.S: The next episode will be longer.

I love it! You do this with flash right? If not I highly recommend you start learning episodes can be made rather quickly with flash and repeated movements can also be done quite easy. But you must keep this up though!

Lol Thanks! We use an animation software called "Toon Boom Studios" I heard it was used to make cartoons such as Sponge bob etc. but yes once we get the money to buy the right software lol I think we might switch to flash. And thanks Beach Bear for commenting. =)

I didn't realize you guys had actually finished an episode - nicely done! I really dig the animation as Helen is describing 'the box' to Chuck and Jasper, her expressions are great. Also, kudos on doing things frame-by-frame rather than using a ton of tweening in flash or something, haha. It makes a world of difference!

I have a couple of really minor suggestions, but don't want to give them out unsolicited - if you'd like to hear them, let me know and I'd be more than happy to share :)

Well if that's easier than flash, that's also fine. If you want to go the "don't fix what's not broken route" that's probably best if you've never picked up flash before. I'd hate to see the quality degrade with the flash cross-over.

Frame-by-frame can be done with flash as well. People just rather do tweening now-indays. I'll tell you back in 1990-something we didn't have all these fancy-pants-tweening and morphing functions in our flash programs. We had to take every darn frame and edit it one by one. LOL

But seriously, tweening can actually save the animator TONS of time and in the process allow the animator to go back and fix up other parts or add detail to another part without having to redraw things. You'd simply have to edit your symbol, tweak your start and end frames if needed, and vola!

But we're not here to have a debate about tweening vs. tradition frame-by-frame. LOL

Oh yeah, I know - I've always done frame-by-frame in flash. It just seems that a lot of people totally abuse the tweening function and use it as a crutch. It looks really lazy and cheap when EVERYTHING is tweened.

Here goes -
I just wanted to say that I personally thought the gradients on the characters were a little too dark - is there a way you can lighten them up a little? I think it'd make the whole presentation brighter and clearer.

Again, that's just personal opinion - I think the final product turned out nicely, and you guys should totally be proud of yourselves :)

I left some tips as a comment on YouTube, but I'll share it here too.

Love it!

Keep up the good work! But just some tips - don't put in awkward pauses (Like 0:37 ) and when a song ends, I'd suggest not to just stop it, (Like 1:09 ) fade it out.

Can't wait for the next one!

Like Harm said, just my opinion, but it's not my film.
And, I, of course, understand that any type of film-making takes LOADS of practice and hard work. This clip isn't ready to win an Oscar, but if you keep practicing, you'll get better.
