Since the early vision of Artie Antlers never came to fruition for one reason or another, I thought I would take the Initiative to create a depiction of what the original character might have looked like. Here is a drawing of mine showing the character that Artie was originally intended to be. Elkon John

Trippy, in a good kinda way. Nice color gradients, and kudos for use of an obscure character.

Nice speculation! Hope someone who remembers the pre 1977 CECPTT launch ever comes across proposed plans!

I truly do have a soft spot for the lesser known or forgotten characters. This next drawing is of one of the rareest pizza time performers, the bubbly miss BB Bubbles. This is based on the photos Ive found on this site of the character in action.

One more for today. While looking at the old program from the 70s, I noticed another guest performer listed as Glenn Camel. Obviously a parody of Glenn Campbell. This of course got my imagination stirring and I decided to create a drawing of what this country star of the Sahara may have looked like.

Elkton: Now, can you draw if there were CECPTT versions of:
The Rolling Stones (The Rolling Skunks)
The Jackson Five (The Jaguar Five)
Madonna (Moodonna - a Madonna cow)
Cyndi Lauper (Cyndi Lamber)
Dolly Parton (Ducky Parton)

How about your own take on the 1978 CECPTT wall portrait Helen Henny when she was a Helen Reddy spoof with guitar in hand.

I welcome any sort of request for new PTT characters. Ill get to work on those and most likely will have some ready by tomorrow :cecwink:

Ba-Ba Streisand (Sheep)
The Strolling Bones (Skeletons)
Mick Jaguar
Juan Cougar Mellon-Camp
Lion L. Ritchie
Seal (Duah)
The (Bald) Eagles - (Have you seen the bald spots on Glenn Frey and Don Henley lately???)
Adam and his Aunts
Hooty and the Blowfish
Lawrence W Elk (ah wun'erful - ah wun'erful)
Kat Stevens
Bear E. White
The Raccoontours
Pink F. Lloyd (or Pink Floyd Mango or Floydmingo)
The C. Monkeeys
Black Crows - (See also: The Crows, Black Crowes, Counting Crows, Sheryl Crow, The Byrds, & Yardbirds)
Gorillas
The Spay Cats

Well, Im still working on a drawing of the entire band, but the front man is all good at least. So here's a bit of a preview. Every Halloween the lounge at the local CEC takes a very strange turn. All throughout the restaurant one can hear the inescapable hard rock strains of the Strolling Bones. Fronted of course by the incomparable Mr Sick Haggard!

Here they are folks! CEC's very own masters of fright, The Strolling Bones! Left to right they are: Grief Twitchards on guitar, frontman Sick Haggard, drummer Marley Rotts, and bassist Kill Dieman!

No Ron Wood or Brian Jones?

the basisit was almost a Ron Wood Parody named Gahnfer Good, but I decided that the Bill Wymann character of Kill Dieman would have more character with sort of a jack the ripper thing. :)

Hello again everyone! It's great to have the site back (at least for the time being). There are two drawings in this post. First , as per request, we have one of the early incarnations of the RAFE, the Hard Luck Bears! they are from left to right, the gooney bird (before he took his Loony surname) Pete Thornsbeary, Mama Granbags, Repeat Thornsbeary, Billy Bill (piano) Billy Wilbur (look familiar?) Billy Bob, and Billy Boy. Next we have some little known and seldom seen characters from the Pizza Time Theatre ice cream parlors, the Four Little Shavers. Who were apparently synced to songs by barbershop quartet The Buffalo Bills, I sincerely consider these guys to be some of my favorites, and how can there be any sin in sincere?! Kudos to my fellow theatre geeks who get the musical reference.

Well folks, its great to see the site up and running again. I understand the demand for specific requests , and so the wolfpack five will be coming up shortly. However I have a bachelor party to attend in las vegas very soon. I leave on monday and it will be my first time among the neon lights. So good luck to all the artists out there, and VIVA LAS VEGAS! see ya soon!

well, I've been out of the loop for quite a while. I hope you all haven't forgotten about me. I hope everyone who attended enjoyed cheesevention. Anyway, I don't easily forget any requests, and so Im going to be posting soon with my rendering of the wolfpack 5. THERE IS DEFFINITELY MORE TO COME!

Unless Elkonj (Euro symbol)ohn does his own drawing of goose Helen, mine will have to suffice. http://dearestleader.deviantart.com/ is the address. I've finally put up some of the scans I had of some of my Pizza Time Theater (and a few CEI/Rock-Afire/Wolf Pack 5/ other robots characters, plus some of my own) that have been around for years on Yahoo Groups but never bothered to put up on Deviant Art. There's a bunch of other stuff too, mostly cosplaying photos from anime conventions, on my page. Of special interest: Helen Henny as a goose, just like in the prototype!

Very nice work on all your drawings Crusty. It truly takes a great deal of skill to draw by hand. You may have noticed that all my work is done in flash, since my hand drawing leaves a bit to be desired in my opinion. If its alright with you I'd like to contribute my own original take on the Helen prototype. I think I might go a little more Janis with her..../:)

Elkonj€ohn
07-09-2010, 06:12 PM
I decided after seeing Crusty's take on the Helen Henny prototype that I'd like to create my own depiction. This version is spawned more from my imagination as opposed to any ideas or plans CEC may have had for the character at one time or another. I kept the whole hippie motif, but added a slighty harder edge.

Another rather obscure character from the PTT days was one of the last ever seen in the cabaret showrooms. The well known and well worn King animatronic was revamped at several locations to become the king of pop King Kat.
