A family celebrating a teen's birthday at a northwest suburban Chuck E. Cheese restaurant got into a skirmish and made a mess, but no serious injuries resulted and there was no real damage, police said.
At some point Sunday night during the birthday party at the Chuck E. Cheese at 955 W. Dundee Rd. in Arlington Heights, "two sides of the family got into an argument, things were thrown" and a scuffle between family members ensued, Arlington Heights Police Sgt. Tom Boggs said.
Police were called and they broke up the fight.
No serious injuries were suffered, though one person went to a nearby hospital with a cut below their eye and another went to a clinic later to have a cut to a hand treated, Boggs said. He said they were minor injuries.
Police interviewed as many members of the family as they could Sunday night, and "also interviewed people yesterday and today," Boggs said Tuesday.
As of Tuesday afternoon the case was still under investigation and no charges had been filed.
"We're not sure whether charges will be filed" until police have finished talking to every member of the family who was there, Boggs said.
