Last night, one of my assistant managers, a few of my co-workers and I covered a shift in Lowell while the Cast there was having their Christmas party.

This was the first I've gone to Lowell since 2001, nothing much seemed to have changed execpt for the game package, typical package, they still have the Memory Match game. One weird thing there though is that on their show, one of the two tv monitors was missing, the one the the right of Pasqully inside the stage was not there, reason was they ordered and new one, and they got the wrong kind, they recieved a large screen instead by mistake, hahaha.

The show was not the bad as I heard, it wasn't in the best shape though. Chuck E.'s left arm was adjusted funny and bent up whenever it was suppose to rest, and his eyes were stuck looking kind of up, and he had mouth issues, sort of got stuck at times. Helen looked the best out of all of the characters, her legs looked pretty beat up and wrinkled though, and her eyes seemed to be the same as Chuck's, looking up. Munch looked pretty okay, don't remember actually anything wrong with him. Jasper's left arm was a little too high up on the guitar and his hand seemed really wrinkled and squished up, that arm also seemed a bit bent back too, he looked good other wise. Pasqually's head looked to the left of the wall the whole time only during the show segments. When random movements started he actually would move his head which I found weird. The audio speakers in the front of the stage seemed a tad weak, other than that the show didn't look too bad, it needs a bit of work though. Good news, the lights still dim during the segments, which I found awesome!;)

Now of coarse I showed them what a Chuck E. is all about that night, I brought him out to do the Cha Cha slide with some kids, the managers at Lowell liked what I did. I than walked and stayed out for at least 20-25 min playing with a few kids, I played Memory Match in costume(lol) and some other games with them. One thing about this costume head was that there was a helmet inside it, a bicycle helmet, with paper towels underneath it, I guess to prevent sweat. Well it felt really weird when I wore it because it made the head a bit wobblely. But I was told to do my best and well I guess I did the first time I came out. Second time I came out a little later and susprised the cast of Lowell in the showroom as Chuck, some of them were asking who it was in the suit, but I left that matter alone, all the cast came out of the showroom with me to do the Cha Cha slide, and at one point in the middle the darn helmet in the head slid down over my eyes, so I couldn't see, I had no choice but to reach my hand through the Chuck Head and push it up really quick, no kids saw it I think or cared, but in all that was fun, the cast in Lowell are def. on the wild and crazy side. I got out of costume, come back out to see them all doing that cha cha slide agian, which i found funny and said "Chuck E. has been gone for at least 10 min now".

So basically it was a fun night last night, it was nice to visit ol' Lowell agian, I made visit agian soon in the future to say hi to the managers and some CMs there.:)

Nice job Matt!

Yeah, i remember my stint at Lowell. At that time they still had a lot of the old early 92' games and the Showroom had some neat gems.

Yes, that tv has been missing for some time now. I think i was still working there at the time they sent it out..wow that was like 5 years ago man! LOL!

Noteable things about Lowell's stage include that it sported original MMBB installation cosmetics for Jasper and Helen ( i can assume they are still there? ). Jasper had the "dark" mask and Helen had her original slightly pointed beak mask...both hallmarks of original Munch Band cosmetics from 91/2.

Also it must be said that the past staff would have a "fun" time behind the stage.....lol.......

I also wondered who the genuis was that came up with the idea of opening a CEC right niext door to a Papa Ginos'.....Lowell CEC is SO tiny...it's more like a "mini-CEC" of sorts....it amazes me how it can survive. I would have thought it would have closed ages ago. They do no business during the week, but like Danvers i guess they make what they need to survive on the weekends/holiday vacation weeks.

So Matt...who is GM in Lowell now? Anyone i know??

Lowell is also place where new GM's would begin. After they got out of training in Manchester, the fresh faced new GM recruit would be entrusted to run Lowell to break themselves in. Most GM's in this district started in Lowell, at least during the time period i was still with CEC. I don't know if this is still true, but i would guess it is still the case as it is the "easiest" store to run due to it's tiny size.

I have very found memories from my days in Lowell. Glad you made some Magic and some memories of your own Matt!
