SP.com - Celebrating Our 10th Anniversary!!

Can you believe it? I'm struggling with it, but the calendar says that it really has been 10 whole years already. So in typical SP.com fashion, I thought it would be nice to have a low-key celebration and just keep things quiet and respectable. Right...

The website has been through a lot, seen many changes over the years, and we're still here thanks to all the fans continued visits and support. You guys really are the best and I'm hoping that this anniversary event is especially fun for those who have been here for years. But for those that haven't, I've dug deep into our "archives" and made up a little tribute to our past and present. For some it'll be a trip down memory lane, and to others, you'll be able to experience some of this for the first time. If everyone promises to walk away from this shameless "patting ourselves on the back" with a little something, then my job here is done!

Actually my job really is done for the moment - I'm now officially on vacation, ha ha!! Enjoy folks!!

PS - Also, yes, I realize that the homepage says we don't turn 10 until Nov 18th... I think I've mentioned in the past that the date posted there is more symbolic than anything. As you'll see in the Special Events section, this site was in development in Feb of 1999 and our earliest recorded update is 9/18/99 so take that for what it's worth!

It's been a blast from day one... I remember sitting in computer class in '99 I was a Junior in high school still and I couldn't have had a more laid back teacher who even glanced over the site with me on a few occasions cause he remembered taking his kids to Showbiz! :-P

I owe alot to you and this site cause I wouldn't know what I know, who I know or have what I have without it... I, I, I love you man! LOL >:D<

Ok sorry didn't mean to get TOO mushy there but ya know what I mean...

I know this site will continue to kick ass though for MANY years to come...and those of us who frequent it and have been here from way back or even people who are new know that it's worth ALOT more than $3,592! ;)

Happy 10th SP.com, the special events page looks great, you didn't miss anything, I'd say you should archive the whole 10th anniversery thing under "past events". The first page is so lame compared to this masterpiece here today.

This is incredible. Nostalgia overload!! Man, I remember almost all of this - Rock-A-Palooza, the Oatmeal porn (really helped me find my way as a sexually confused teenager, thank you for that), the Fan Club, the various site designs....so many memories flooding back. It really is amazing.

In fact, thank you for EVERYTHING! I can't believe I've been around this community for as long as I have (going on 10 years myself) and how much I've learned and how many amazing people I've met - so many amazing experiences that I owe to you folks. We've had our ups and downs, but it's been a great ride.

Congrats Travis! It's been a blast growing up with this website. I still remember that "chance" you took on the Showtape Review and I can't believe how large it's grown since our first write-up. Although I've come and gone these last few years, I'll always think of this community as my extended family!

Congrats Travis! This site has definitely grown over the years. I still remember the crappy old ezboard, and it's (horrible) wonder. XD Though I don't really post that often, when I do it's something that I REALLY wanna talk about, and THIS is one of those times. I still remember back when I first joined, and when I used to always capitalize the first letter of every word I typed. :p I also remember the "limbo" SP.com (Main site) was in when I first joined, when half the pages were in the "2.5" style, and half was in the new "3.0" style. :p And yes, agreeing with Travis, that 2.5 construction banner was uuuuugly!! XD Seriously though, I've had a lot of good times here over the past several years, including CheeseVention 5, which I will never forget.

So here's to 10 more years of awesomeness!

Congratulations on ten years! I just finished reading all the 10th anniversary stuff, and I must say that coming to this site as recently as I have it's neat to see all the history. I even tried finding all the secret pages in the April Fool's section and got most of them (except I couldn't find ANY on the Enquirer vol 2 pages) except Billy Bob's blackmail portfolio and Mitzi's secret. I've never been good with things like that so I was pleased to have found what I did!

Happy 10th birthday (my 40th was yesterday!) and here's to many more!

It's actually sorta half joke/half serious. See, about a year ago, I would constantly pester Travis about the Update forecast. XD So this is like a little crack at that whole time of pestering, but yet at the same time I do wonder when it'll be updated again. :p
