Howdy Folks!

Well the BIG EVENT is under way, and i thought it was a good time to begin the annual 'Highlights' thread to cover all the 'on-site' postings and updates direct from the CV^ festivities, plus any forthcoming photos that are sure to be added.

So things are off to a great start as i type from our handsome hotel location. Wow this place is nice...with a free breakfast brunch and posh rooms. the lobby is really a nice place to hang out..( where yours truly is typing from currently). A HUGE thank you to our Location Co-Host Menutia for finding this awesome hotel!

Today folks will be arriving for a official start later on today. At the moment myself, Menutia, Travis and Theresa, and Danny with his Dad are here to hold the fort. Later on we will be joined by 20+ more Attendees and the party will kickoff in traditional CV style. I wish all those out there on their way a SAFE TRIP!

I will post more updates here as time allows...and watch for Veganovas' 'live in the moment' photo postings too!

:)

Ok gang, Its monday afternoon at 1:30pm and Im just getting up. Our flight was delayed till about 10pm last night, we didnt get home till 2:30am and was asleep by 3am. I will be posting a full report as soon as I am awake more, but I wanted to give a huge thank you to our own Menutia for co-hosting this event. He went above and beyond doing all the little things to make this weekend great for Cheryl and I. Also a big thank you and an "im sorry" to Thresia for the ride to the airport yesterday. We hit a few places we wer'nt schedualed to see, and a huge rain storm, but we made it to the airport.
It was great to see the fans that made it out to this event. I just wish I could have sp[ent more time with all of you, to get to know you better. I didnt even get to talk to some of you.
Keep your eyes here for more info, and a huge.....come back safe, to Jenn, Travis, Thresia, Mike and Mike as they are on a road trip this week going to see Showbiz Pizza Place, Smittys, and Billy Bobs Wonderland.

Maybe it's a GOOD thing Looney didn't come then, if he'd known THAT Jenn wouldn't have been able to leave town lol

Glad everyone made it home safely. I'll try to say some words about the event when I can get to a computer and can type easier. But a HUGE thanks to Andrew. That RAE was the highlight of the event for sure. And also to Brian and Menutia and Aaron for helping to get the show up and runnng!

We are still on the road. Outside Atlanta as I type this. And J, Theresa said no worries about the airport ride - that downpour wasn't near as bad as what we hit yesterday in WV. We even watched a tornado trying to form...

I find it hard to believe that a week after the event there have been little to no reports on the event.....how did all of you like it? I'd love to hear from some of the new faces we met.

Yeah I have definitely been meaning to get to it, every time I think about doing Vie gotten interrupted by something or someone. Its amazing how fast this week has gone by so quickly. So with that said, I will have my full report posted very soon! :bbwink:

Wow..i can't beleive NO ONE has posted anything post-Event here!

We need some photos and some reviews!

It gives the impression nothing exciting happened...and that is SO FAR from the truth!

VegaNova

Yeah I was there.. pfft.. waste of time and money...

Haha just kidding!!!

I've actually been swamped since getting home on sunday. Had some "family / rental / moving out and leaving behind a bunch of trash" drama going on down the block. I literally just cut a bunch of lattice off a chain-link fence from down there a few minutes ago (got a long way to go to clean up that dump). So my time on here will be limited over the next few weeks to be sure, but I'll try to squeeze in as much updating / etc that I can.

I haven't even had a chance to get all of our CV6 (and roadtrip) photos together - once I do, hopefully in the next few days, I'll send off CDs to those interested. I've also gotta prune through the video footage and see if we got some useful stuff for the upcoming DVD.

Even without posting a full review right now, I do want to extend some "thank yous" to those who helped pull this event together - HUGE thanks to Menutia for putting so much work and effort into lining up the hotel / events / etc. This event would have been nothing without his efforts. Also a major amount of gratitude is owed to Andrew and his folk for not only letting us invade their place to see the classic RAE, but for the surprise pizza party and goodie bags (complete with custom "Rolfe's Improv" cookies!) That was beyond anyone's expectations, and was truly appreciated by all of our attendees. Thanks to Brian and everyone who helped get that show up and running as well!

And of course thank you to each and every fan who took the time out of their weekend to join up with us. It was awesome getting to meet everyone, so many new faces, that was really awesome. I'm also glad that a few of you came from so far away to attend (J & Cheryl, Danny & his dad, Clarke & Dee). With the economy in the toilet, it means a lot that you guys were still willing to spend the time and $$ to venture out this year.

Photos and more info coming soon.

Also I'm leaving the CV merch up for another week or so until I can get in there and tweak that section to change/remove all the CV6 attendee info. So if you still wanted to get a souvineer, grab one soon!

I gotta tip my hat off tto Andrew & his parents. you really made a lasting impression on us all. The show looks AMAZING (but then again why expect less from a fan-owned show) The Pizza..I don't think ANY of us were expecting THAT. that was a great surprise. I will NEVER forget this weekend for as long as I live. such a shame my camera broke before the trip as i'm sure my dad & I would have snapped some great pictures and taken video too. oh well.

:cec_thumbs: :D When I had heard that we were gonna have a 90 degree weekend (which we hadn’t had since the first week of June) it was a sign that the weekend was gonna be great, which it was!!! The weekend could not have been better! Being able to see the interworkings of EnchantedCastle! Being able to see Andrew's Rock-afire, which was great, and I'm truly grateful to have been able to see it in action!! The pizza was a great surprise, so a big thanks to Andrew and his parents!! Watching the Rock-afire Movie was great, seeing a CEC 3-stage, and actually seeing the New Rock-afire Explosion working, and of course meeting some great people! It was a fantastic first CheeseVention and hopefully won’t be my last! :bbwink: :D

Which 3 stage did you see?

Very cool about the live RAE show. Does a Chicago-based fan have one set up in their home?

Took this down at CV and I just realized that Jasper from Darien is
playing Beach Bears guitar! I haven't seen Jasper playing Beach Bear's guitar in a long time. I thought all of the Jaspers had the cheese guitars.

OFW in Tinley no longer uses the Show Selector. It is now a random show every few minutes.

Well, it's been a few weeks now, and I have finally been able to come down from the "HIGH" that was achieved during Cheesevention 6. The biggest thing I need to get off of my chest is a big "Thank You".

Thanks to those who attended.
Thanks to those who could not, but supported the event and Chicago as host city.
Thanks to the venues who hosted our events.
Thanks to our site staff who gave the extra effort to add to the magic of CV.
Thanks to the mom & dads who accompanied many of the fans.
Thanks to my friends for their mental support, cash donations, and assistance that helped make CV 6 the success it was.

Based on my calculations, this event had the largest participation of any of the CV's. I counted 27+ in the photos at the Rock-Afire event. This commitment to CV is what is needed to continue the tradition and enjoyment of the characters we know and love.

I hope this weekend was memorable for you if you attended. If you didn't - start saving now for the CV 6 DVD - coming this fall.

I was a little too busy to take many photos, but I am posting a few images to this thread which I think are symbolic of the weekend. This Rock-afire weekend would have been impossible if it wasn't for all of you!!!

Finally, in true CV post event thread tradition, I will now begin the list of quotable lines from some of out members as overheard at CV6. I am not able to remember quotes from everyone, especially those who attended for portions of the events, but here goes... (Feel Free to add your "notable quotables" from CV 6.)

Menutia - "Number 47 O-Rings"
Jenn - (as Looney Bird) "Drink Deep"
Travis - "Schweet!
Theresa - "Where are the keys? - I'm Driving"
Mike S. - (as Klunk) "That's Beautiful!! - You're Beautiful!!"
Danny E - "Oh, Goodie"
'J' - "Where's my munch hat?"
'Bobby' - (at EC) "My name's Bobby"
'Annoymous' - "Holy Crap! - It still says 'Showbiz Pizza' on it!"
'CEC Cast Member' - "Welcome to CEC, may I have all of you money?!" =))

Sad day...no Rockford. Well, If I had gone I would've had to rent a bus to take all those who wanted to visit there with me! lol!

Still looks like you guys had a blast though.

Shiney Happy Jenn

Rockford was on the list, but because of it's distance the group as a whole did not head out there.

In all honesty, the show is not that awesome. It IS considered 'awesome' by the Fan Community in general simply because it is one of the last remaining 'Porch/Rocker' stages....but when i was there last year the robots left a LOT to be desired. It was in poor condition, regardless of Chuck still wearing his vest and derby and other nostalgic bits still present.

Folks in general did not miss much. I think the CEC 3-Stage viewing that most of the group saw on Saturday was enjoyed just as much, if not more, as the Bots' were at least in semi-decent moving condition.

Now maybe the CyberBots' have been worked on since the remodel in Rockford...could be so...but it was not enough to justifiy the hour+ ride out there and back.

Also, it must be said that most of the attendees who came to this years CV were LOCALS..and they can head out to Rockford any time they wish.

Yeah, it still would have been nice to have it included...but it was waaay too far off the beaten trail when compared to the other activities we had lined up.

After holding onto these videos for a long time (almost a year to since the event, and another event past) because I was debating on starting a youtube account, I finally got the idea to zip it up and put it on a free file sharing site. It's no dvd, but I hope you enjoy it anyway.
