For those that don't know, I (like Isabella) make costumes. In fact, there are a couple over at www.micromascots.com. That's my site. ^^
Anyway, I plan on making a Chuck E. walkaround, but not like the one in the store. Much, much smaller and less cumbersome. That's why I call my mascots Micro Mascots! ;) It'll pretty much look like the Studio C bot in the cool chuck clothes, and will feature vision through the eyes, a moving mouth, minimal body padding and removable hat. Hehe, it'll be hilarious if I ever make it to a CheeseVention. :D
So anyway, this thread will be a running log of my progress with images and whatnot. I haven't started it, but here's a sketch to show you what the proportions will be like.

Woah, sweet! I'm totally excited for this :)
I've always been into mascotting and I've done some theatrical costumes/makeup for local productions...I've been seriously considering making a Harmony costume sometime, you and Isabella have both been inspiring me :)

Nice Design!
Now when you say moving mouth, do you mean like a full-bodied puppet (like Big Bird or Barney) or RC or animatronic or What?

Nice design with no baseball cap and no shoes on your CEC walkaround.

No, nothing that complicated. ^^ It's basically proportioned so that when my mouth opens, his does. My jaw pushes his open. This is a technique seen often in fursuiters, but almost never in mascot companies.

Y'know one thought I had for your moving mouth thing, because a mechanism to move the mouth of the head when you move your jaw, will tire you out pretty quickly... buuut what about a sort of bellows system? Like an airhose and a bladder in the hand OR even the armpit or something, that you can manipulate. Basically turning you into something of a bot ;) I like where you're goin' with the suit, I always did think the store suits were far too bulky, looks like whoever's wearing it dumped a load in the suit... or Chuck looks like he "helped clean up" after a big party and ate all the leftovers.
I like the lack of shoes, kinda like a hybrid PTT/CEC chuck.

It's actually very easy and doesn't tire you out at all. A piece of elastic runs along the inside of the mask, holding it tight to your lower jaw, so that when you open your mouth, the jaw of the mask will open with it due to the elastic alone. :D
Also, SlapHappy, your website makes mine look like a 5 year old built it. o: I love it!
I considered making my own Chuck suit, but then I got an original one, so I started on my own Jasper instead. :) I'm so looking forward to seeing how your Chuck turns out! I love him already, and he's not even in costume form yet!

Progress! Here are the cut pieces for one of Chuck's hands. The fur isn't exactly the same as that of the walkaround, but it's pretty darn close. The pads are made out of antron fleece, as that's what the nose and inside ears will be made of. I'll dye them pink later.

Progress! I think the fur is a nice substitute. It's definitely the right shade of gray. :) I can't wait to see even more of this costume!

Wonder if a homemade Chuck E. Cheese walkaround or costume would be perfect for someone to wear while being a contestant on the new CBS version of "Let's Make a Deal"

Can the same Macromascot site be used to make a homemade walkaround of CECPTT characters Harmony Howlette, Foxy Colleen, Sally Sashay, Dolli Dimples, Artie Antlers, and/or The King if they get commissions?
