I found this while googling, and am a bit puzzled. Has anyone stumbled across a CEC like this? Like, a "Center" such as this besides Corporate?

That is a former Showbiz Pizza turned into a CEC location in the capital city of Guatemala. It is a franchise, last I heard.

Wow, so there's a 3 stage there too probably..seeing as how franchisees try to keep thier 3-stages..Haha I wonder if it's in good condition still? Seems like the foreign CEC'/Showbiz's keep the show in great condition... :eek :eek

My guess is that in this context, "center" refers to CEC being the main anchor tenant in this shopping strip mini-mall.

Around the corner from my old store in Union NJ, there used to be a big box Bradlees store (similar to K-Mart & Target but not Walmart) that had a few extra storefronts along with Toys R Us attached to the exterior, and the whole strip had been referred to as the Bradlees Shopping Center. Bradlees eventually went out of business and that particular strip mall has since been torn down and replaced with a standalone Lowe's Hardware store, though the Toys R Us next door had been disconnected from the strip and it too is now a standalone.

CEC @ U-NJ was always its own building, being an old twin movie theater. The restaurant's parking lot had come right up against the rear of the parking for the old Bradlees store, separated only by a chain link fence.

From 1984 to 1987, our franchise also had a PTT in East Brunswick NJ that was attached to a K-Mart and so the strip was referred to as the K-Mart Shopping Center. Same thing. Personally I think it would sound kind of cool if CEC anchored more mini-malls like that in this country.

Yeah it's a retrofitted sign like this one that was on the Phoenix, Arizona store in '95 ;)

Also about this sign...Nick noticed that it had light sockets all around it...the lights probably used to scroll around it just like the logo in the commercials! :eek :eek

Yay!! That's my local 3-stage store! I haven't been to that store in months, I miss its horrible condition. >D
But its the only 3 stage in AZ, so no matter what condition it's in, I still visit it.
Anywhom, that sign was takened off that AZ store, along with those checker patterns that followed around it, since that pic was takened 11ish years ago.

Hey Ryan, like I said, I haven't been to that store in a looong time! But now I really want to drive over there to see if it still even has a 3 stage. So when I do make a trip over to that store, I'll get pics for ya. I have to start keeping in touch with that store, so when they do get rid of there 3 stage, I can go dumpster diving!;) :lol

Regarding the lights around the original Showbiz sign outside....

Yeah, i remember them. I don't recall them being "chasers" though...just steady glowing showbizzy style round bulbs.
