Springfield, MA 3-stage update

I was at the CEC in Springfield today and the show looked like a mess, well i was told they arn't sure if they're gonna update with Studio C or fix it, there is a possible chance they may actually get someone to fix up the stage but its just so old and crappy to deal with.

Chuck:
-Mouth didn't move
-His left arm was stuck sticking way up in the air and was stuck in his leaning position.

Helen:
-Only mouth that move correctly
-Moved okay but her mask was pretty dirty
-One of her feet were unbolted and coming off.

Munch:
-Right side his body had his fur dragging down his feet.
-Foot tap was stuck in 'up' position.
-Had no teeth
-His head was stuck in a tilted position showing a bit of his mechanical pole coming out in the back.
-Left eye was covered by purple fur.
-Mouth would get stuck and only moved when it felt like it.:\

Jasper:
-Mouth moved ok but would stay open when he didn't talk.
-His right arm that raised in the air, it was stuck to his hip and looked as he had his hand stuck on his hip. Very complicated to explain.
-Right arm held on to guitar, tied to a purple alastic or something, guess the guitar fell off at one point or something.
-His back head of his mask was visible and drooping down far, his head looked more bigger and sloppy.
-Looked like a mess out of all the characters.

Pasqually:
-Like Munch, his mouth got stuck and moved randomly.
-Head would turn slowly at times.
-Right arm was stuck higher and his long drumstick looked as it he was about to stab it through his left arm.
-Moved slowly out of all the characters.

-No spotlights worked.
-Wink sign was falling off.
-Helicopter light burnt out.
-Pizzacam actually was working but stayed in his box....yeah the right eye was the only thing that worked on the whole mech, left eye stayed shut.
-Only spotlight that actually worked was Moon's, but kind of focused more on Jasper, also Moon wasn't even there, so wasn't Building.

wow!! I don't get why they destroy the good working three stages and keep the messed up ones. the store probly had more business, but can't they just shut a non-busy store down and move the show peices to another location?

Tech's are encouraged to focus more on the GR then anything else....those that DO get to work on the show do it because they care and have some pride in there Store.

It is interesting how so many 3-Stages seem to be so out of condition. I have seen C-Stage that are pretty crappily kept up as well....it's a dang shame!

But then again, the Corporate Mentality is that the GR issues are more important since it's the games that make money and , in their eyes at least, the Show does NOT!

To sum up, it was nice to see the 3-stage for a last time for a while at least...but it really looks like a bomb did go off on the stage, it looked pretty sad.|I :rolleyes

only 3-stage in MA or not, it sucks now, it needs Studio C. But on the other hand there sure could be a way to get it halfway decent.

It doesn't matter what show it is, I've seen crappy looking 1,2,3, road, Alphas, and Betas. The new shows really tick me off when I see them busted up. It just goes to show that no matter how old or new the show is, if your techs don't stay up on maintenence, the show is gonna go to crap. In another thread I mentioned the messed up Studio C alphas I've seen. Well, I've seen some messed up 2 and 3 stages as well recently. Tallahassee's 3 stage was pretty scary, as was Mobile, Alabamas. Brandon's 2-stage never gets touched, so it also looks like trash. This really pisses me off, because it's our district tech's store. I'd expect more out of him! Thank God our store's assisstant tech got sent to Tampa to take over for that store's tech. (He quit suddenly and moved back to England!) He's been spending good amounts of time and money to fix up their 2-stage, which he told me obviously hadn't been worked on in a long time! Even their control stack room had trash and cobwebs everywhere! Well, he's been fixing that one up, and I've got to say it's looking pretty good now! He at least makes sure he does his daily maintenence, and everything looks and works so much better! So, at least we still have one good working Munch Band in central Florida!

To all of you techs, do what you can to save your shows! Take some time to care for them, and fit repairs into your budget! For those of you techs that do it right, GREAT JOB! Keep the magic alive!

Hey Bzier I know you are currentlya Senior Manager, but if a Tech Manager position ever opened at thhe Fairfield store, seeing how you are moving out this way,,might you be interested in the job? yjey used to have a tech whose sole purpouse was to work on the show while the other did the games. Then the one who was doing games left and the show manager got stuck doing both show and games. U would LOVE to see YOU working on our show as there are so many things that are in need of repair that I don't think they bother to deal w/ them. The initial remodel plan was to include Studio C but now they are just getting the basic remodel and keeping the 2 stage. Here is a list of what i've noticed not working

Star on Chuck Stage (hasn't strobed in years . the switch may be broken)
Helen: has low air pressure her beak hardly moves i'm tempted to ask them "have you checked her charcter card on the computer" their may just be some faulty circuits
Pasqually: only looks to his Left and ignores his freinds.
they have unplugged the MMBB sign and fiberobtic curtain.

also on the 2 stage can anyone tell me specificcally what lights are supposed to be on during that time Occasionally I see the wink spotlight on during thhe breaks is that supposed to be on?

The Chuck E wink is only supposed to be on at the beginning or ending of skits. I noticed that it wasn't working right when I was there. I alsi noticed that Munch and Helen's jaws don't work. Pasqually is completely missing his iris/pupil in one eye, he's also missing his hat, Helen's arms didn't work, and I noticed a couple of spots didn't work either.

I would LOVE to come over there and become an assistant tech and get that show lookin' beautiful again! The problem is, I don't know all that much about technical things. I've worked with games a bit, but not really too much with a show. Though, I'd definitely be willing to learn!
And, if I did get a position like that, I would definitely attempt to remodel the stage like I thought about!

Starting off of course with Chuck E. Cheese!

all his upper party parts do not work at all. right arm elbow bend doesn't work at all. left eyelid got brokend off from his left eye lid movement part. this saturday I noticed that Chuck's mouth was stuck opened all the time didn't work at all. and also his left elbow bend didn't work at all either. Right ear flap sticks staying in the backwards position sometimes. Chuck's eye's do not turn looking to the right at all.

Cosmetic/clothing wise? Chuck's inner part of his mouth is sort of cracked some what. Other wise in apperance? Chuck looks awesome!

The CEC Neon sign has been blinking unevenly. the last few times that had to be takend in to get worked on. the neon cec sign that is. Chuck's front blue flood lights most of the time do an oddly flickering when they should just stay on all the time during segment 2 when the characters talk in between song breaks.

The bottom right leg on Chuck's star has some gold glitter coming off from there.


Center Stage!

Starting with Miss Helen Henny

Left ear flap does not move backwards at all. none of her elbow bend movements work. Her right wrist twist didn't work at all. Right eyelid moves a bit slower then left eyelid. eyemovents work great! Left eye color is a little faded then right eye.

Helen's Cosmetic/clothing apperance? Wing fur on both of her arms are a little dirty looking. hands same thing. the outter top layer of skirt still has a huge hole on it. Mask has little hair line frature crack underneath her left eye hole. there's a small stain on bottom right left. and there's a small crack on right side of Helen's right purple sneaker.


Staring with Mr. Munch!

Head tilted don't work for right tilt movement. Right arm always is stuck up in air. left eyelid is starting to move a bit slower then right eyelid. Mouth still works great! eye movments work great!

Munch's Cosmetic/Body fur appearance?

both arm furs aren't tucked in securly to hid arm mechs. neck fur? Can't be to much done about that. other wise that's ok. Right foot tap is disabled from working cause of his green sneaker coming apart in pieces. Body fur likes kind of holey looking on left side. Cause of the sharp edges from his body frame. Munch has a crack between his eyeholes also. but the diffrence is the purple fur hides it.:) There is a small crack right on the left eyelid mask.


Starting with Jasper

Left eyelid is mostly always stuck opened. Right eye turns in slower then left eye. guitar movement stays always stuck upward. right arm is always stuck never sliding outward from Jasper's body.


Jasper's mask/clothing apperance?

There's a crack in between jasper's eyeholes. that's so common with him. Jasper's bottom fur jaw is worn away completely. Jasper's cowhid shirt needs to be replaced. it's a bit small on him. And it's very dirty looking also.

Center stage moving and none moving props.

the two small wall bushes on center stage have two huge cuts like right in the middle of them. the buliding that hides the pop up building has some scratches on it. the big vent thing that jasper sits on has alot of scratch markes on the outter front paper of it. and the right organ leg has some scratch marks on the front of it.


Center stage lights/sign/organ

all front floods work except for green floods which are never programmed for front center stage shows. All organ lights work both for legs and top front part. All MMBB sign lights work. Most of the center stage floor lights work. That should work.:D And the orotary spinner doesn't work to make the stars look like there twinkling. But the center stage backdrop does light up!:D



Now starting with Pasqually!

Both arms are now working terrificaly well! Body lean backwards works great! Mouth works great!, left eyelid is pressed up against left eyeball. Which prevents his eyes from turning the way they should turn. all head movements work. I had also noticed that a piece to the right foot pedal that makes the two cymbals move hasn't been working at all for quit some time now. So the two cymbals just stay now paritally closed all the time instead of some of the time. And some of the purple glittler stuff that goes around pasqually's drum stand is sort of chipping off. And I think I know why too!:( Damn idiots


Pasqually's Mask/Clothing Apperance?

Mask is sort of seperating on left side. clothing looks awesome!

Pasqually's drum/floodlights

all drum lights work. all front flood lights work. and sometimes pasqually's blue floor floodlights do an odd flickering. even when there to be doing there normal blicking/flickering I've noticed this with Pasqually's blue flood floorlights. Same follows for chucks front blue ceiling stage floodlights.


As for grooming the characters. cleaning sneakers, mask where needed be done? I get some of the credit for that.:D And also cleaning the tv monitors too!

Also the Building has a very small hair pin hole located underneath his lower lip. And the moon has a big hole were the foam is seperated in between from the painted and none painted foam. it's not really noticable till the moon opens his mouth to either sing,danes. Or just give a huge happy face. And I of course would notice all this stuff lol. Other wise there both in great shape in apperance and working wise also.:D

Your referring to the Flint MI. location... I was there in October 06 and it looked good! I know the tech personally. He goes to the Pontiac store as well. I think it's a sign of the times.. prices for the 3 stage cosmetics are outrages... That store was a gem when i was growing up. I always stopped in after going to Frankenmuth!!!! They also upgraded to dvd..

Helen's right wrist twist wasn't working. but it's working again. the rest hasn't been done much at all on her. her body lean still works. and the rest is still the same.

munch nothing new to report on him. except for the same stuff from previous post.

Jasper nothing new to report either on him.

Pasqually's both arms for a few days were bothing working terrifically well. but now his right arm is back to not going up and down again. and his left arm doesn't slide over to his left cymbal that's the newest thing now wrong with him. and the foot pedal for pasqually's cymbals that move kind of together. that wasn't ever broken. that was my mistake on that there. Other wise the rest is still the same for Pasqually.

Building, Moon, light's/props are still the same in apperance and conditions as in previous post. I knew I didn't menition this in first post. all the speakers work for the most part very good for the dinning and game room area.

He or she is suppost to fix the problems that occur. like if an air line is leaking he replaces it, a light bulb burned out they replace it. you name it. they do it all. They are also responsible for the up keep of the games and other building tasks..

My godmother lives their maybe I'll be able to check it out for my self. I haven't seen a stage with more then one character on it for over a year. So I would love to see one again.

Well, three years later and the show is working great! Every spot is working including every mouth.

Well that's nice to know...I am assuming they yet to Phase 4 remodel? Last I remember hearing this store had landlord issues.

No, they just got their Phase 4. I was very upset. They had like 7 parody posters! Now they have those dumb new posters! But the show has definitely been improving since 2007. In 2008, they got all new cosmetics and fixed a couple of spotlights and mouths. In 2009, they fixed all the spotlights and all the mouths. But the main problem on the show from 2008-early 2010 was that Pasqually looked like he was dying. He didn't move at all except for blinking once in a while. In 2010 they fixed his arms and his and head. What an improvement! But the sad part is, the PROPS DON'T COME UP ANYMORE! Building and Moon actually talk to themselves behind the skyline. Pizzacam was taken away in 2008. But, I am very glad they didn't get cheapo curtainless Beta. I would've been very very angry if Springfield had gotten Studio C.

I have a question. Say Springfield HAD moved, would they have gotten Studio C??? I mean, I could see them getting cheap Beta in 2005 - 2007 or 2008. BUT, I don't see many stages getting remodeled anymore. I think to save money they might just move the stage.
