Hey guys, I'm Steve...and I think I've just discovered my newest fandom.
I was told about this place by a good friend of mine, gwendolyn_1983, who has fond childhood memories of Showbiz. I on the other hand (despite growing up in the 80s and early 90s) didn't even know that Showbiz Pizza or the Rock-afire Explosion existed until about a week ago when she told me about it. When I first saw the RAE via youtube I immediately took an interest, mostly because of my love of computers and gadgets...as well as all things 'retro'. I had never seen anything like this and just had to know as much about it as I possibly could. I feel a little bummed never having experienced it growing up, but still just knowing it existed fascinates me. I've spend the last couple of days watching video after video and absorbing as much info about Rock-afire as I can dig up on the net. I think it's safe to say it's quickly becoming an obsession, even moreso now that I know there's fans reprogramming them to do covers like hips don't lie by Shakira...I shall forever think of Mitzi when I hear that song now...who I should mention is quickly becoming my favorite character (if it wasn't already obvious) XD
Well there's a brief intro, wanna know more about me...just ask ;)

Woohoo! Welcome to the forum!
Having grown up with Showbiz Pizza from when I was 4 to when I was 9 (It became Chuck E Cheese Pizza when I was 9) and going there EVERY Friday for dinner, I wasn't expecting that you had never heard of Showbiz Pizza growing up. Now I want to return to my childhood in the 80's, take you with me, and go back to Showbiz!
That huge ball pit at Showbiz was fun, BTW. ^_^

Welcome to the boards! :) The same thing happened to me, pretty much. I discovered the RAE after looking up 'Chuck e Cheese robots' on youtube after a birthday party at my local CEC. I came across a video called 'Chuck E Cheese Robots Rapping', which happened to be the RAE singing 'Ms New Booty.' I was intrigued. My first thought was 'What's with the silly Halloween masks?', but then I decided to look up RAE on youtube and found 'Smooth Criminal' from one of the RAE Cyberstar showtapes. I IMMEDIATELY took an extreme liking to Beach Bear (even though I thought he was a wolf. I don't know how I made THAT mistake, but I didn't know he was a bear until I found the website. Haha.). I guess it was his adorable blue eyes and the creepy rocking back and forth he was doing in the video. I looked up RAE on google to figure out what his name was, and ended up finding the Showbiz website, and discovered he was a bear. So I started researching him and found out the website had a forum. :) That was only a few months ago, and now I'm sitting here drawing the RAE on my tests at school, doing loads of fanart, making Earl puppets, and working on a Beach Bear costume. And, I may even have a chance at getting my own Beach Bear (granted, he's not in the greatest condition, but that's the fun part).
Be sure to check out the fanart thread. Lots of amazing art up there. :)

Thanks for the welcome guys!
I can see how Beach Bear could be mistaken as a wolf, I actually only knew he was a bear because of his name :P Also I was just browsing the fanart thread last night...amazing stuff. Your stuff in particular Isabella is very good. I am however going to hold back on some of the Mitzi requests I had thought about, because...well, yeah. Don't want to come off as one of those Mitzi fanboys that seems to drive everyone nuts ^^;
You're pretty lucky to have the possibility to own a Beach Bear though. I'd of course love to have Mitzi, or maybe Dook. But really having any of the RAE bots in any condition would be an honor to me.

I am very excited about the movie, want to see it so bad! Ever since I saw the trailer and read about Chris Thrash I've been completely in awe! Looks like the closest one I see is Madison, WI...which would still be a considerable drive for me...hmmm

Same here. It was actually seeing the Rockafire movie trailer online that brought me back here after a 9 year absense, heh. I was amazed at how far and wide the buzz was for Rockafire Explosion the documentary on mainstream, geek, etc sites/magazines/blogs/news shows, etc. Im hoping when it finally comes to theaters, it will get at least the buzz The King of Kong got.
Who would have thought there'd not only be a full length theatrical documentary on Showbiz/Rockafire/Aaron Fetcher, but about Showbizpizza Forums? Or that it would already get such a huge buzz way before its release?

Thank you for the nice comments. x3!
Haha. Don't worry about the Mitzi requests. I'm starting to like Mitzi a lot more than I used to. If you'd like me to draw anything at all, send me a pm. I love doing free art, especially if it's RAE/CEC related. :D
Yes, I'm really looking forward to finishing the deal off. The seller wanted $300 for him. I'm waiting on pictures though. :)

Well, I've read that its pretty much admitted that modern Hellen Henny *is* pretty much Mitzi, at least the look/style/etc.

$300? Sure seems like a deal to me! I've heard these RAE characters can go for 1000+. Then again I suppose it depends on how 'complete' and in what kind of condition they are. ....then again I'm new to all this so I may have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about ^^;
Anyway I may just PM you with one of my Mitzi ideas, you seem quite open to it :)
Well, I've read that its pretty much admitted that modern Hellen Henny *is* pretty much Mitzi, at least the look/style/etc. I've read that too. They pretty much carried Mitzi's persona over to Hellen because of what a strong role model Mitzi was to girls. Makes me happy to think that Mitzi pretty much lives on to this day as Hellen...but I still prefer the original RAE Mitzi :-P

So you're saying you're wanting a Mitzi? Well, there may just happen to be someone here that could sell one of his two Mitzis. *cough* *cough*

Heh, I take it you know this 'someone' *wink* It's sure tempting, but I'm almost certain I couldn't afford it right now :(

Agreed. My brother and I always used to play in there, wrestling around in it like it was a steel cage match. Yes, we were pro wrestling fans, as well. (LOL)

*raises The People's Eyebrow* Oh REALLY?!??!?? =D Just how much would this someone offer one of said Mitzis for, and what condition is she in? 'cause I know THIS someone has always had a dream of obtaining a Mitzi bot, myself. *^_^*;

I hear this guy has 2 full Mitzis, with the one he's selling having average condition cosmetics. He says it would go for 800-900. Not really sure though, cause it SURE isn't mine. =))

HMMM... the cosmetic issue would be an easy fix, since I'd want to have a brand new job done courtesy of that Cosmic Bazaar website. How's the condition of the rest? And just $800-$900, maybe? Who is selling it? I'd really like to know more. =)

Wow. You don't know yet? I thought you'd know by now after the obvious sarcasm. =))

(ROTFL) See, I was thinking it was you, but when you said it "SURE wasn't mine," I wasn't certain that sarcasm was tying in with the rest of the 3rd person speak. *^_^*;
So, seriously, if it is you selling it, $800-$900? Can you take pictures and put them up to see?
