Welcome Folks to yet another fabulous thread dedicated to our annual Event!

This year we let the Fans themselves have a say as they 'V.I.C'ed ( Voted In CV) to WHERE they would like this years Event to be. Several locations were considered, but after a month long vote, when the dust settled it was clear who was the top choice-

Chicago!

So this years' CheeseVention, the 'Officially Un-Official Showbiz Pizza/ Chuck E. Cheese's Fan Convention" will take place in Chi-Town this Summer! This is our SIXTH YEAR of bringing you fun and adventures only CV can provide!

So now that we know where CV6 will be this year, the next question on everyone's mind is surely this: WHEN will it be ( dates please?)

Well, as noted in the previous voting thread, Cv6 will take place at some point in either late June, mid July, or mid August. I am awaiting some behind-the-scenes info and confirmations before announcing any dates at this time, but as SOON as it is decided it will be announced HERE! I realize many of our Attendees need to request those days off from work and also to start making travel arrangments/plans. I totally understand, and as soon as it can be confirmed i will of course post the dates here.

Next up - Hotel! We all know 'Days Inn' is the 'Official Hotel of CheeseVention'. I am looking into this, and other budget-minded options to keep CV affordable to as many Fans as possible. I know this will be appreciated, as this past year has seen the US Economy take a nose dive and a lot of folks have to watch their $$ carefully. We will have a decent hotel option soon, again, once a decision is made it will be posted here in full.

Okay...now that those important topics are covered, let's start the thread off with suggestions and ideas of what YOU would like to do and see at CV6!

Naturally i am well aware that Chicago has a lot to offer the RAE/CEC Fan - some great old Stores, some decent Shows, and a lot of bonus' for even Non-Fans to enjoy. Here are some 'must do's' i am sure most Attendees would want to cover:

* - The Enchanted Castle ( great themed resturant/arcade with a cool retro Sally Corp Animatronic Show!)

* - Rockford, IL Chuck E. Cheese's Location ( the LAST known operational 'Porch Stage' setup)

* - Odyssey Fun World ( one of the last places one can view a 'New Rock-aFire Explosion' Stage Show)

Again, please do make suggestions. Right now i am looking for suggestions on a HOTEL in the area. Any locals know some nice places, in decent neighborhoods, that are cost-effective?

Just a 2 cents to throw in... RUMOR has it that the Rock-afire Movie could be making an apperance at http://indyfilmfest.org/ in July

And Menutia showed us a lovely little hotel in the heart of downtown that was nice and offered FREE PARKING!!!! http://www.rivernorthhotel.com/

I'm actually gonna try to pull some strings, to see if there might be a shred of hope that we can see the movie at CV... just random ideas at this point, but hey - it's worth a shot right? LOL

Thanks for the tip...keep those hotel ideas coming gang!

Right now the priority is to decide where would be the best place to stay that will be in the middle of all we wish to do and see.

There has also been talk of having the Arlington Heights CEC be our 'Host Location'....as in, a 'home base' to use as a meeting place. Looking at a map, it does not appear to be too far off of the beaten paths we wish to tread. Would this be of interest? It was one of the original SPP's to open in the Midwest ( 81' was it?) and used to have a nice 3 Stage Show. Sadly, that is now gone but we can all gaze in wonder at the replacement instead - Studio C 'Cappa' ( aka 'Crappa')

Is this of any interest?

One thing is fairly certain- CV6 will require a lot of driving!

This years' CV Logo will reflect this, as i am making it in a 'Route 66' theme this time around. Should be appropriate - Billy and Chuck E. in a car heading off down the road with the 'CheeseVention 6' title emblazoned above them on a cut out image similar to the famous 'Historic Route 66' road sign.

I hope to have the logo done sometime in the next 2 weeks. It all depends on my work schedule and this 'other' art project i am working on....

So what do ya'll folks do for a CheeseVention anyway? I mean besides a bunch of adults going to a CEC and talking about the good old days? I'm kinda tempted to go to this one, considering its not THAT far from Milwaukee (maybe hitch a ride with another local, split the gas?) Although as for a date, it could be neat if we could have CheeseVention 6 around the same time as WizardWorld Chicago. Kinda give everyone a double reason to head to Chicago in early August?

order any of the CV DVD's and you'll see exactly what goes on. some things are different from year to year depending on where the event is held but alot of things are the same

VegaNova
03-08-2009, 05:12 AM
Every event is a bit different but it's mostly a bunch of us hanging out and checking the "rare" sites in the area of the event. When is wizard world exactly? You have me intrigued with that suggestion. Also there's been some talk about visiting WI as part of the activities. Nothing set in stone but the idea is out there.

I'm rediculously stoked about this years event. I've been through Chicago in the past and have seen quite a few of the locations we plan to hit but this time I'm crossing my fingers to be able to see a lot of what I missed in the past.

NickRyder
03-08-2009, 09:20 AM
I think WizardWorld is like August 6th - 8th - not sure off hand -www.wizardworld.com - is the official site. But could be fun, not a free convention, but its another event that might make the longer trip for some of the others more worthwhile (not that a Cheesevention wouldn't be worth it) and yeah hey Wisconsin would be cool if you guys visited.

What would be interesting is if we could get in touch with that magician the Amazing Andrew who just got a RAE from Aaron recently - check his youtube - fanprograms account for the video of the guy loading it into his truck. He's supposed to be in Chicago somewhere.

Nice suggestions Gang! These are all worth considering.

I have my sights set on early/mid August at this point. This is a generalized area as far as dates go, and i am awaiting some info before officially announcing any CV6 Dates. I have been looking at August for some time now, and it is a cool coincidence that a lot of other Cons are going on within the week of my target set of dates. More news when i have it.

I was just on Travelocity a moment ago, looking up some hotel rates and flights. Right NOW the rates to Midway Airport ( and even O'Hare) are NIIIIIICE... too bad i can't take advantage of them yet! Du'oh!

Midway is on the outskirts of the main city of Chicago, and usually flights are much more resonably priced then if you fly into the major airport Chicago/O'Hare. Sometimes you can find a deal for ORD, but MDW seems a better bet for those traveling under a budget.

Now hotels- I checked some rates for the Arlington Heights area. Much better then anything closer to the airports ( which is not really where we would want to be anyway...). I found one place for $49 a night, but it was not rates/reviewed very well by people who have stayed there.

Any suggestions for other towns in the area where we might find decent, non-expensive lodging?

Oh..and apologies about mis-naming the Show i thought was at the Arlington CEC. I was told it was a 'Crappa' stage....but now i hear it is actually a far better 'Alpha' version of Studio C.

There may be some bad news on Rockford...

So, my tech showed me some Rockford pics on his phone the other day, and they got Phase IV. Purples walls and rearranged restuarant up the wazoo...

The fate of the show, you may ask? Well, my tech has told me that there is a group of people (no idea who) from the company who are going to fly up to Rockford to check it out and figure out if they want to keep it and "remodel" the stage a little, or if that's too big a hassle, they are considering taking it out...once I find out for sure from my tech I'll post the scoop.

On the other hand, I'm excited for a Chicago CV, as now I have a very good chance of going. I just hope we're able to stop at the S. Chase Ave. store, as that's MY store! (Not the one I work at, but you know--MY store!)

Just like a new paint-job and trying to fix the bots...nothing too fancy

CEC3066
03-09-2009, 04:56 PM
all they basically need is someone to program it so they'll look the correct directions.

MMBBfan327
03-09-2009, 09:38 PM
Haha, I think you guys are misunderstanding what I said...

There's a chance they're trashing it. If they do, Studio C goes in. If it stays, they're considering painting it and going to work on PMing the bots so they have all their movements. Example, when I went there a while back, Chuck's body turn was out. Munch and Helen were cross-eyed. Stuff like that will be fixed. No fancy additions, no custom programming, none of that.

CEC3066

being that it's the last instance of the first stage designed by ShowBiz Pizza Time Inc for Chuck E. Cheese it'd be a shame if they tore it out

03-10-2009, 01:46 PM
Well the house could use a paint job. The pink color scheme is just ugly if you ask me. I wanted to paint it the classic white with green trim when I was up there last year.
It would be a terrible shame to tear that show out...especially since the bots are still in pretty good working order!

An August CV would be PERFECT for me! I go up to Wisconsin every August to visit my old stomping grounds. and friends...and for you Wisconsin guys that would need a ride, I could possibly meet up with you and you guys could carpool down to Chicago with me!

VegaNova
03-10-2009, 03:00 PM
Sounds like this is coming together pretty good already LOL!

I didn't notice when I was at Rockford the last time - but do the characters really turn the wrong way? With the possible exception of Munch and maybe CEC, the tech should just be able to reverse a few hoses to correct that problem (rather than worry about any custom programming job). It's not a perfect job since they're so mixed up, but it might help the appearance some. It could have been that there was enough movements out when I visited that it would have been hard to tell. :(

Hopefully they won't trash it, but when it comes to nostalgia sake, I've seen the company do far worse I'm afraid....

What would be interesting is if we could get in touch with that magician the Amazing Andrew

Haha, that's me! Though that wasn't me in the video...Don't worry, my plans are to have my show running by the time CheeseVention comes to town...So I'll keep you all posted...In fact, I'm going to eventually have a 'status' page as part of my site to see the production progress on everything.

Okay Gang...latest news now-

We have narrowed the dates down to two August weeends that are being contemplated for CV6. The first POSSIBLE weekend dates would be August 7/8/9. The other POSSIBLE weekend dates being considered are August 21/22/23.

For the majority coming, which would work out best for everyone out of curiousity?

YoungCaliHottie
03-15-2009, 02:35 AM
ya ive seen lots of phase 4 stores with windows in the showroom. its so retarded. defeats the whole purpose of "studio c" and its lighting effects.

anyway, i dont know if theres anyone who would like to attend who also is in school. but having it on the later dates in august could interfere with back to school season. is there anyone who wants to come but the reason they wouldnt be able to in late aug would be school?

it does not affect me personally. just food for thought.

Shiney Happy Jenn
03-19-2009, 09:05 PM
Thanks for the feedback guys. I myself prefer the earlier dates, and based on those i have asked, most seem to agree that the weekend of Auguse 7/8/9 would be the better choice.

So it looks like these will be the dates for CV6. I need to check a couple of more things on my end, so i will hold off on slating them as the 'Official CV6 Dates' for the time being.

As most regular attendees of CheeseVention know, CV is traditionally a 2/3 day Event. Friday is normally the come to town/check in/ meet up with friends day. Saturday is the main Event Day with the bulk of CV related activities taking place. Sunday is usually a simple Breakfast meet up, where Attendees can have a meal, say their goodbyes, and head home.

I see no reason for things to change, as this pattern seems to work well. As for Saturday's line up of activities, i should stress that THIS year CV will be very much 'on the road'. What i mean exactly is this: We will be spending a LOT ( a LOT) of time driving/riding in cars! Most of the places we plan to visit, or people have expressed interest in visiting, are quite a ways away from each other. So you have all been forwarned! Bring those RAE Cd's and the portable dvd players people.....you might need em'!

I have been working on a few other non-CV related projects lately so there has been no progress on the Logo yet. I know what it will look like, and it should be mighty sharp, the trick is finding the time to set aside to actually sit down and draw it out! More news when i have it....

word of advice , if there are no Days Inn's close by I would suggest choosing another well known chain, as I hear bed bugs are quite rampant at independant hotels

Shiney Happy Jenn
03-24-2009, 12:52 AM
We have a hotel in mind ( a Hampton Inn) that may end up being the choice. I am shooting for a $69 to $89 price range...and this place was suggested as it is a good central location in relation to the places we wish to visit.

Our ofifical Location Co-Host Menutia kindly brought this to my attention. Sounds good to me!

Okay folks, here is the latest update-

First, i would like to announce our official 'Location Co-Host' for CV6. You know him, you love him, you probably already know it's him....but if not....

It's our very own Menutia!

( thunderous applause)

=D>=D>=D>=D>

He has been hard at work behind the cheese...er...scenes setting up some special options for us. He has also been arranging a few neato surprises for us as well!

Second, it looks like we have a hotel! Woo! Again, our Location Co-Host has gone out of his way to personally inspect the place and inquire about our special group needs ( more about that much much later...). I am very happy to announce that we might be able to get a special GROUP RATE with some added perks if we meet certain requirements.

So my question to all of you is this- WHO here thinks they will definately be coming to CV6 and staying in a hotel room? I would like to get a rough idea as it will help with getting our hotel arrangements finalized.

The hotel we have in mind is better then your average roadside place ( so no, it's not Days Inn!). It is a Hampton Inn in the suburbs. Rooms would be approximately $80, which is about the target area i was looking at in this particular area. It is in a residential area with a shopping center nearby and a CEC Location within a mile of the hotel ( for you late-night CEC homies out there..) Menutia also tells me they have a computer in the lobby of the hotel with free internet access and a printer, for those who would like to use it. They also have a fitness room ( to burn off all the pizza fat..) and a small pool ( for a little relaxation). Oh, and there is a Greek resturant right next door! What more could you want, really?

**** To make it fun, we will award a prize to the poster who can CORRECTLY GUESS which Hampton Inn it is! You can only guess ONCE....and you MUST PM your answer to Menutia himself right here on ShowbizPizza.Com. So go to the Hampton Inn website and see if you can pick it out! www.hamptoninn.com (http://www.hamptoninn.com)This should be interesting....and you have until we officially announce it to guess! Remember, ONE GUESS only per poster. Good Luck! ****

Before you run off to look at the Hampton Inns ....BE SURE to POST HERE NOW if you are pretty sure you plan on coming to CV6, and staying in your own hotel room. I say 'your own room' as we are aiming for a certain number of rooms to book to secure some 'added perks'. We might be able to save you guys some $$ per room IF we meet certain criteria, so let us know if you are more then likely to come and stay!

Lastly- The CV6 Logo is drawn, looks pretty nice, and should be making it's way here within the next 2 weeks. I have sent preliminary 'work in progress' versions out to a couple of key people, and the final color version should be ready soon! As noted earlier, it is a 'travel' themed Logo this time around..with Route 66 being a major influence in the design. Also, i have created some fun 'teaser art' that will be finished around the same time as the logo for use in promoting the Event. So we have some ALL NEW Jenn RAE and CEC artwork on tap! Woo!

Speaking of promoting- BIG thanks to Radio Showbiz for offering to help spread the word about this years' Convention! Woo..i just heard about the first promo on air today, so wanted to send a shout out to you guys!

Watch this space for more CV6 News!

Yes, August 7/8/9 is the weekend....i have held off on posted it 'officially' as i am still awaiting clearence from my workplace for the time off.

There should be no issues, but JUST in case....i have held off.

I would go ahead and look into the airfares...

..which brings up a question- should we all fly into O'Hare ( ORD) or Midway ( MDW)? I ask as i know in the past we have favored carpooling/pickups. Midway will have lower rates, but O'Hare might be better for other Attendees.

menutia
04-03-2009, 11:07 PM
I will comment more when we officially announce the CV sites and confirm a few other details. Each airport has it's benefits and minuses. O' Hare has more flights and is a monster. Midway is smaller and has more of the Discount airlines like Southwest and Frontier.

They are indeed Friday, AUGUST 7th thru Sunday, AUGUST 9th! WOO!!! So it is a definate go....the 'all clear' came today.

This is the first in a 5 image series, and is specifically designed to get people PUMPED! It is NOT the CV6 Logo....but a 'prelude' to it's unvieling. Yay!

If there is enough interest, i can make the set of 'Promo Teaser' designs into mini posters. The original art is VERY small however, so i am not sure how well it will enlarge. I did'nt really have any other plans for these images beyond web use to promote the Event..thus the small sizing. If folks demand otherwise, and there is interest in owning a complete printed set, i can see what can be done.

In the meantime, it's time for more!

There's always been a plan to hit up the Rockford CEC...and we were all hoping for the stage to be left alone.

Let's see... The hotel is secured and at a VERY GOOD RATE. I'm still waiting for someone to figure out which one it is going to be, but if I don't get a correct answer by 5pm CDT Friday Night, I'll just have to go ahead and announce it.

The special "CheeseVention 6" rate will only be available to attendees who book over the phone and request the CV6 Package. The cost will include the wonderful benefits of the hotel including a workout room, Free breakfast (including eggs & sausage) and some additional perks we will receive in the conference room. Details on that will be announced when the Official CV 6 lodging information is posted and as we announce more "Surprises" along the way.

If it turns out that the Rockford store becomes just another store, it will most likely be left for CV attendees to visit on their own time. The Rockford store is 90 minutes from Chicago but if the attendees want to go, we will work it into the schedule.

Plans include travel to at least one CEC store and time for attendees to visit more locations. (Chicago has 15 stores with another dozen or so in the surrounding states!) Depending on weather, store conditions, and time... we can hit several in one grand tour. For those choosing to skip the "CEC-HOP", there are plenty of other alternatives to choose from in the area.

More updates soon, stay tuned and watch out for the BIG announcements and the debut of the CV6 Logo on the Official CV 6 Webpage.

Awesome news on the hotel... I was just about to ask how we go about confirming our "attendance" as part of the group rate. My thoughts on Rockford are about the same as Menutia mentioned - if they do end up yanking the stage out then there's probably a lot of better options for places to check out. The store is kinda interesting as far as the building it's in, but without the old rocker stage it probably wouldn't be worth the long drive out there. In my opinion anyway.

Also the website section for CV6 should be appearing shortly. I've broken ground on it already but haven't gotten too far because I'm still recovering from my computer crashing a few weeks back - just picked up my spankin new terabyte hard drive a few minutes ago LOL.

And I'll leave the honors of showing the logo to Jenn since she did a heck of a job on it (as she always does)!

onme thing I wanted to point out, when we called to make the reservation originally, the discount only applied to Friday & Saturday night, if we ever get a special rate at a hotel for another CV it would be a good idea for the person arranging the deal for the discount to book for Thursday night as well

RAFE CEC Guy
04-27-2009, 06:30 PM
I have to agree, as I too am going Thursday night. In fact, probably everyone is.

menutia
04-27-2009, 07:27 PM
CV 6 does not officially start until Friday Evening with the welcome party. Danny, what did they charge you for the extra night?

If there is a problem getting that rate for the additional night, let me know BEFORE YOU BOOK, and I will talk to the hotel. In your haste to be the first to book, if you could not secure the discount price, you might have done yourself a real disfavor.

menutia
04-27-2009, 07:34 PM
"disfavor" should say "detriment".

Shiney Happy Jenn
04-27-2009, 07:38 PM
Interesting observation, as i too will be coming in on Thursday. Menutia is correct however, that CV itself does not 'officially' begin until Friday evening.

I just wanted to let folks know that AMERICAN AIRLINES is right now running a lot of discounted flights to Chicago ( via O'Hare- ORD). I am at this very moment looking things over as i really need to start getting serious and book stuff. It is tough when money is not in the supply it once was.....

So check it out at www.aa.com

CEC3066
04-27-2009, 10:34 PM
i was able to get the CV6 rate for the Thursday all i had to do was talk to someone in the sales department at the hotel and they gave met the discount for all 3 nights

menutia
04-27-2009, 10:52 PM
Great! Than those who call to register just need to do the same.

When you call to book, ask them to include the Thursday (or Sunday) for the $80. They will honor that price while we are still in open registration.

menutia
04-28-2009, 01:27 PM
the hotel won't accept reservations from anyone unde the age of 18, so you better get a parent or guardian to help! They know us as "Cheesevention 6". The best part about booking with a LIVE HUMAN over the phone is that they can answer questions and help! More than any website can do!

If you forget the name"Cheesevention" just tell them you are part of a group for those dates. They should be able to figure it out!

I just saw all the gear for CV6 and I just wanna be the first to say... WOW!!! Veganova has been working very hard on the store. He has done some great things with Jenn's artwork... check out that "Retro" design!!!

All purchases are produced "on-demand" -- you better order early, so you have your gear for the CV. There is a variety of items available with a variety of prices designed for everyone who may be attending or not! Prices were kept as low as possible, and there are items for folks with a budget in mind, or those who just don't like T-Shirts.

There might be more items coming, if there is a demand. There is also an offer for $5 off your next purchase and a friend's purchase when you send the promotion to other RAF fans... (after your first $50 purchase).

So start buying! Be the first to have your very own "limited edition" CV 6 Gear NOW!~

Shiney Happy Jenn
06-24-2009, 08:06 PM
Wow...never thought i would hear that Events' name come up here...

No, it did not have a influence..not that i am aware of.

We had another company lined up to handle the CV6 shirts/merch....but things were not in our favor and Travis discovered that we had many more options and choices availible to us by going through CafePress instead. So we stuck with it.

For the big 'EPCOT 25th' rally, my assistant Adam actually handled that. I was not involved in choosing the shirt/merch service for 'C25' in any way. I saw samples and ok'ed the items that used my Figment logo, but had no ties to it in any form. In the end, it turned out to be a good thing.....

Okay gang, it's time to get SERIOUS for a moment.

CV is only about 5 weeks away and we have two important notices to bring to everyone's attention.

First up - 'REGISTRATION'!

Yes, it is now time to 'register' for CV6 if you are planning on attending. Here is the direct link to the CV6 Webpage that has all the info - http://www.showbizpizza.com/events/cv/register.html

PLEASE, if you are planning on attending our Convention, SEND YOUR NAME ( and how many in your party are attending) to the registration email 'cheesevention@showbizpizza.com.

This is VERY important folks as we need to have some idea of how many people we are actually going to have attend to plan events, purchase supplies, prizes, etc..etc. We are getting to the point now where we need to get finalizations complete, and stuff together so REGISTER TODAY!

Next up- Booking Your Room at the CV6 Hotel

The deadline to book your room for CV6 has gone by, HOWEVER, the Hotel has graciously extended the offer to Monday, JULY 6th. That gives those coming from out of town or locals who don't want to drive home really late at night less then a week to BOOK YOUR ROOM at the special discounted rate! We have 6 rooms booked, but need 10 rooms total to win all the nice perks menioned earlier in this thread ( conference room, etc.).

So if you have not booked a room, and would like to - DO IT NOW! :) Locals- PLEASE consider a room to experience the 'Full CV' effect!

We are awaiting final review of the NEW 'Letters to Looney Bird LIVE Collection Two' Dvd Set. It is ready to go and looks fantastic- a really nice package i think...and i hope to annouce it's availibility in the next week or two. Time really is slipping away fast folks...and CV will be here in NO TIME.

I guess because it's an ongoing thread, I didn't see this as a new topic. It's my fault, because I had wanted to go to the Convention this year. But if I had noticed it earlier, my work schedule wouldn't have allowed me to consider it. Now, I'm off for six weeks, but I already made plans to go to Oklahoma that same weekend. Hopefully I can go next year.

And I did want to meet everyone I've been seeing online and chatting with. I live in Simi Valley, and that CEC store closed, as did one that had been in Thousand Oaks for quiet a long time. I do know there is still one in North Hollywood/Pacoima Area, but it's very different looking than the older CEC's. And I haven't been to the one in Northridge in ages, so it may not be there, either.

Oh, well, I just wanted to post here and re-introduce myself. I did the Biggles Bear appearance for RockAFire here in Los Angeles. It was the only mascot character I had that resembles the CEC/Showtime ones.

In the Convention Video I saw on youtube, the walkaround Billy Bob had a moveable mouth. I didn't see enough of the last years Convention postings to know who did it, if it's someone in the group? Is so, I'd sure like to chat with them to find out how they did it. You can see some of my characters at: www.myspace.com/azuregenie.

I'm interested in getting a Billy Bob or Beach bear costume!

Thanx,

Jay

Hey Mr. Munch, that's so cool. Do you have any behind the scenes how it works documentaion? I do some puppets, and I have some larger walkaround costumes, but none that works quite that easily for the wearer. It makes everything self contained, right? Do you use elastic to help with the movements?

After looking at all the characters, besides Billy Bob, I think I would like to get a Beach Bear. I can relate to him because I'm from California, he, he he.

Since Menutia is driving should we expect to swerve out of the Hampton Inn parking lot on Friday?

I'm not driving, but I will be providing maps and instruction for out of town attendees. Follow the leader just won't work for this CV!!!

If you are attending, are renting or bringing your own vehicle and have space in your vehicle for our guests without transportation, please e-mail me at cheesevention@showbizpizza.com. If you need transportation for this event, please contact me as well so we can find you a ride!

Wow.... all of this stuff looks great. I'm so sad that I'll be missing out this year. But starting next year, for CV7, I will plan to attend. I'll have a different vacation arrangement, and I will be able to be there for sure.

Nevertheless I would like to purchase the merchandise that is available. However, I'm sometimes computer illiterate, so can someone send me a link to all the cool items that are being sold for CV6? I already have some T-shirts from the RockAFire Explosion since I was at the Los Angeles showing, and highly recommend it!

Thanx,

Jay

Thanks Harmony.

I'm ordering some stuff now...as i have not had the chance yet. I love the 'vintage' looking shirts, the baseball shirt, and the cool mug! The mugs from CafePress and VERY nicely made..and LARGE! When i held the mega-EPCOT 25th Anniversary Event down at WDW a couple of years ago we had CafePress handle all the merch. I was not expecting a lot as far as quality goes, as most of these types of 'quickie' printing places delivier so-so goods. I was VERY happily impressed however when the stuff arrived..exspecially the mug!

So if you like your coffee...or just like drinking out of a healthy sized mug, i recommend one.

Now...the thong on the other hand....lol.....

HA HA! Oh that never gets old...

Actually I pulled that out before the shop went public (for those wondering what the inside joke was throughout this thread). I kinda figured that it wasn't worth getting scolded by some 10 year olds mom. B-)

But Menutia snagged one before I yanked it. LOL

Also I might add that the non-shirt stuff is really nicely done. I grabbed one of those mini-buttons (which are rediculously small BTW) but still quite professional, so I was pleased. Also got a bunch of CV stickers which I've been plastering all over my mailed packages since I got them.

Also kudos to Jacob for making that awesome CV6 Billy Bob - can't wait to see that in person!

Agree, and i figured that is why the Cv6 thong 'magically' dissapeared.

This just means Menutia will have to bring his to the collectibles display.

:D

The official CV6 Program is coming along nicely. For those who are not familar with what this is, it is a special souvenier 'Schedule of Events' brochere that i put together for each CV. Every year it is a different design, and a couple of them are now hot collectibles in their own right ( particularly the large multi page one done for CV4 ). It looks pretty nice, and completely fits with Cv6's 'road trip/traveling' theme.

I also can annouce that we will be having some special LIVE ENTERTAINMENT this year at CV. No....it's not just the same ol' 'Live Shows'....this is something completely different and totally COOL.

I can ALSO now announce that we will be having TWO SPECIAL GUESTS this year at CV6. Both should be well known to everyone here in the Fan Community....

No Room for Error. If you are usually a tardy person, assume that the schedules are in Eastern Time! (CV 6 is scheduled for local Chicago time, Central Zone.)

Some events are at locations with time limits, and we cannot afford to be late!

J, you really really really REALLY need to come out to a Non-MA CV dude....

...you just don't know what you are MISSING..exspecially THIS YEAR!

Okay folks, MORE INFO now-

As always, we ask for all those attendees coming to the Event to be sure to bring your CAMERAS- that goes for both still/photo cameras and most importantly VIDEO CAMERAS! Why?

Well..for starters, with all the absolutely AMAZING entertainment and surprises we have in store you will never forgive yourself if you don't bring your cams! And you just never can tell who might be showing up...or making a surpise appearence!

Also, as always, we plan on eventually releasing a Dvd of CV6 and want to capture as MUCH footage as possible of the festivities. So if YOU have a video camera and would like to be a roving camera person...go for it! YOUR footage could very well end up as part of our future Dvd release for all of fandom to enjoy!

As of the latest Schedule Revisions, neither OFW nor any CEC stores are included as primary stops on the schedule.

There will be time on Saturday evening to visit some of these stores and check them out. There is a soon to be released map of the current CEC restaurants, former stores, and bonus attractions which will let fans plan their trips and schedules accordingly.

This will be a great tool for those arriving early and/or staying late who want to hit CEC stores and other fun attractions.

Well folks. ONE WEEK to go! Is ANYONE EXCITED??

Well you should be...just wait until you see what we have in store for you...

Any day now all registered attendees should be recieving via e-mail the final info for CV6 ( Brief Schedule overview, directions to the Hotel, Maps, etc.). WATCH for this very soon!

The Schedule of Events , in a nutshell, will be this;

Friday late afternoon most attendees will be arrving at the Hotel. After everyone is checked in and ready, we will depart for a fun Dinner at a cool location ( Non-CEC). You guys will like this place i am sure...just up your alley!

The REAL Event begins on SATURDAY with a VERY early start (8am!) where we meet up in the CV6 'Lounge' at the Hotel for a short, but special, video presentation..during which our TWO SPECIAL GUESTS will appear. So don't be late, and don't miss this!

After breakfast we depart the Hotel for a road trip out to a fabulous location where the bulk of this years' main entertainment will be located - The Cv6 Entertainment Complex! A lot is planned...and some great surprises too!

Later in the afternoon we will depart and head over to another location of interest on our planned interiary, as well as stopping by someplace for Lunch.

We return to the Hotel in the late afternoon to relax and hang out in our exclusive Cv6 'Lounge' at the Hotel. Here we will take in some fan videos, play some games, chat, and just chill after a busy first half of the day.

Later on in the early evening attendees will have three different options regarding what we will do for Dinner. These will be discussed during the Event...

That will end Saturday, and Sunday will dawn with the traditional 'Cv Breakfast Send Off' where we gather one last time for a meal and some goodbyes before the group goes their seperate ways back home.

I hope this gives everyone coming a idea of what we have planned, so you can get a sense of how full the day will be. We have made sure to include a lot of 'breaks' so people can slow down and relax. We understand the need for people to have some time to relax admist all the excitement and activities, so the CV6 'Lounge' is there for enjoyment!

That would be wonderful if you guys continue my game out there!!! The rule is that you can not use the "words" but have to come up with another clever way to discuss the stuff. $.25 for saying the words, $1 for wearing any part of any logo/character and all the $$ collected goes to the wait staff at breakfast. So the more you want to have fun the more they will love you. Try to trick a waitress into bringing something to another attendee, they will it you tell them whats going on, and that they will benefit.

Hey there J...and Folks in general!

It is AWESOME out here in Chi-Town! The hotel is beyond great..what a lovely place! The rooms are VERY nice..and the lobby is a great spot to hang out and chill ( where yours truly is now typing from...tee..hee)

Just saw Danny's Dad at the free breakfast brunch here....they have some fun planned for today before the official festivities begiin later on today. So far it's just myself, Menutia, Travis and Theresa holding the fort. The Captain arrives later today along with the bulk of attendees. We have folks coming from CA, new Orleans, MA, TX, and lots of locals! We have adults and kids..teens, and all in between. I think this is gonna be one of the BEST CV's YET! Our Location Co-Host Menutia has done a fantastic job setting up a lot for our group...be sure to give him a nice 'thank you' for all the hard work! Trust me when i say it is NOT EASY setting up a CV.....right J?

So right now we are just relaxing and adjusting to the time changes. I'm a little spaced out at the moment, but the tea and sugary bread products should be kicking in any miunute now.

Later on we will be getting together with the main group and headin' on over to The Enchanted Castle to hang out with 'The Jammin' Jesters' AA Show and chow down. This place is really a cool place to spend a couple of hours...as they have a LOT of neat games and indoor activity offerings.

Hopefully we will have others post 'live' what is happening. Veganova plans on posting some photos from the Event 'as they happen' so look for those soon at some point here on the Board.

Well...i need to caffinate some more...i will post updates when i can. If you are on your way here, have a SAFE TRIP and see ya soon!

Just returned from the Sears Tower ( now known as the Willis Tower..) and had a good time standing out 'outside' of the building from 130 stories up in pexiglass boxes. Pretty neat...and i was excited to be able to see Lollapaloozas' setup over at Grant Park from where the birds roost.

The troops are starting to gather now....you can almost feel the electricity in the air!

Currently it is raining here in Chi-town. Nothing overly serious, drizzly....but those concert/festival goers will be mighty wet come nightime.

Enchanted Castle was a lot of fun. I must say Ive learned something tonight, I realized that Chuck E Cheese has spoiled me with his one token games! Granted Enchanted Castle has some better games then CEC but some of the games that would cost one token at CEC coasted four or five at Enchanted Castle. Looking past that, it was a fun night filled with food, fun, and socializing! One of the highlights of the night was getting to go back into the control room and seeing their set up! (Pictures below) Definitely looking forward to tomorrow!! I really should get to sleep, though; this is weird for me, normally Im up till three in the morning and sleep in... so waking up tomorrow will be..... interesting! lol, nothing a cold shower, some coffee, and some pure CV adrenalin cant fix! Sorry if the pictures are a bit blurry, I should be able to get this camera figured out by tomorrow!

And to Menutia's question earlier, I zoomed in the picture to see if the Sony player was a DVD or a CD player. Though it is a bit blurry, it is definitely a DVD player, but they could possibly be playing a CD.

DVD, depending on the hookup, playing the shows reel to real is possible, just more inconvenient.

Which 3 stage is in vega's pics?

Is there any relation between the show at Enchanted Castle and RAE?

And to Menutia's question earlier, I zoomed in the picture to see if the Sony player was a DVD or a CD player. Though it is a bit blurry, it is definitely a DVD player, but they could possibly be playing a CD.

just about any DVD player can also play CD's as well. i know for a while my local CEC stopped doing real Live shows & just put the Roadshow CD in the DVD player & tried to pass THAT off as a Live show/ They have since returned tp doing normal Live shows in the Show room

othger then both being animatronics there's no other relation. Enchanted Castle's show was built by Sally Corp

they were in OK shape. Aaron has apparently been to the store to help them fix the show but there is still lots of work left to be done.
