A local CEC is switching to Studio C soon and informed me they'd be destroying their 1-stage bots. I was told to call the corporate to see about obtaining said bots. Does anyone have the number to the corporate?

My best wishes go to you in purchasing the bots if they're willing to sell them to ya. If you can't find the number, I believe the official site even has email contact. It's just a matter of finding it. Their myspace page (http://myspace.com/dept18) has the email adress if you want it.

The tech we talked to said they aren't allowed to sell the bots. They said if I'm interested in getting them I should call corporate.

UNFORTUNATELY, Ruben was the one who originally called them to ask about it, and he originally told me that National City was getting a Studio C, then later told me La Mesa was, and now he's telling me that neither of them are! :-S I'll contact them about it anyway, just for the hell of it.

So Isabella... where are you going to put the bots? Or are you going to retrofit a Jasper into a Beach Bear and I don't even want to know what you have in mind for Mr. Munch ;)

What about Mira Mesa?

Your best bet is to bypass home office entirely. I already know their answer would disappoint you. The crews are trained to come in and disassemble everything then destroy a good amount of it. Unless you're already friends with the tech, you're not likely to get anything. Even then, the techs aren't in charge of show removal/installation so there's no guarantee. The company just doesn't want people to have this stuff, which is understandable because it's their copyrighted stuff.

It really varies from store to store. If you visit on a regular basis and make friends with the management, they may give you a heads up when certain things are happening. Some would be cool with it, others won't.. you'd just have to ask around without being too direct. Asking to buy it would throw up a red flag with most GMs. Try asking about when the show would be replaced, mentioning you're a fan, etc..

Then comes the fun part once the show is taken out.. DUMPSTER DIVING! The airlines would be cut (easily replaced) and cosmetics would be busted (I'm sure someone around here could sell you extras) but that's probably the only way to get this stuff without someone from the inside breaking company policy. You could get lucky though cause that does happen! :-$

Dumpster Diving was my plan B. :cec_thumbs: I dumpster dived when the local Halloween Store closed for the season and I got a bunch of stuff.

Thanks for the info, I'll keep it in mind!

To be honest, skip plan A and make plan B into your first priority! You will get nowhere asking for stuff, just plan to dive for it every day, unless as stated above you have friends inside the store that can give you a date!

Seconding this. Also, ALWAYS BRING A SPOTTER. You haven't known terror until you've been trapped inside a dumpster with a pissed off squirrel.
Other useful things to bring include anti-bacterial wipes, rubber gloves, and some trash bags :)

Gee, you sure sound experienced. ;) Yes, I'll definitely bring someone along if I go dumpster diving. When I went dumpster diving after my Halloween store closed, I was the lookout and Ruben (count ramsely on the forum) went into the dumpsters. Can't you get arrested for dumpster diving?

According to THIS (http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/scripts/getcase.pl?court=US&vol=486&invol=35), no, it's not illegal.
Just don't go diving in anything marked as private property, or with 'no tresspassing' signs ;)

Ah, excellent. I was freaking out when we went dumpster diving at the Halloween store. Haha.

If I had them, I'd have to cram them into my room until I move out in a few years. I have no problem sacrificing all existing walking space in here for a MMBB. You know, and the ability to open my door all the way. Haha.

It's actually the 2-stage bots I'm after, although owning some of the 3-stage bots would be epic too. But, I'm in love with the 2-stage bots (Munch, especially, as you know. Haha.)

What about Mira Mesa?

They're actually not changing, surprisingly. I wish they'd at LEAST make that stage higher though. I applied there (for any available jobs), so if they decide to hire me I'll be sure to keep any annoying kids from hanging off them. ;)
