Hey everyone,
I just wanted to give everyone a little heads up on what's been going down around here. Updates appear to have dropped off the map - that's actually due to a lot of things. The holidays definetely set things back around here (that was what, like 2 months ago already?) and I've been pretty sick which hasn't helped matters any.
But, we do have some things underway. First off I wanted to announce the release of the CV5 DVD! Some of you caught it yesterday before I was able to wrap up the website updating (sneaky devils) so, there's already a few copies in the mail as I type this. Pretty cool that everyone supports this event like they do, and I wanted to say on behalf of the entire SP.com/CV team, thanks for all that you do!! :x
As I'm sure most are aware, the Podcast has invaded YouTube - right now that may not seem like much, as everything to date has been only audio, but it does offer some neat options for the future. I know Brian has been cooking up some cool ideas as far as where it can be taken from here, so I'm looking forward to seeing how that pans out - again, we'll need some community involvement to make it the best that it can be.
Another new feature is our fantabulous (that's a word right?) new Google search bar on the homepage. I've hesitated placing one of these on the website for sometime because it kinda ruins the fun of actually browsing through all the pages and features of SP.com. But, the site has gotten pretty freakin huge and finding info can be tedious. The real beauty is the ability to search through our PDFs - even though the documents are all scanned bitmap images. How the heck does it do that? I thought about it long and hard for a few hours and decided that it was all thanks to the magical interweb gremlins. :D
I'm not so certain I like it on the homepage, so that Google search may be moved in the future, but for now that's where you can find it!
And lastly, I've been given the green light to move forward on another project that's been waiting on the backburner for sometime. It may take a month or two to get rolling, but should be well worth it when I can get it off the ground. I can't say too much right now, but just know that what was once a two-tier project (reviewing tapes for the Showtape Review & gathering information for the RAE/PTP character sections) has now become a three-tier project. Basically things will take a bit longer, but we'll push out updates as much as we can!
