Hey everyone,
Just wanted to say hello. I worked at the Aina Haina location in Hawaii for a bit over a year, after being a fan as a kid. It was a pretty cool place to work when you were 15.
Some tidbits:
- The kitchen staff had to trade off shifts in the Billy Bob suit, and walk around the game room. Some days, the manager was too "busy" and whoever had the Billy Bob suit actually had to also deal with jammed coin mechanisms and other housekeeping. I remember it being really weird for the kids to see me banging on the Galaxian machine to try and get their token back.
- There was a huge bucket of tokens by the door of the manager's office that we would all dip in to, even though there was a strict rationing of tokens to employees. I believe it was 4 tokens per shift.
Great times. I wish I had a Rock-a-fire near me here in Seattle to take my son to.
