I went to my local CEC (Hibert st. in Mira Mesa) today, and afterward ventured down to Escondido to check out their Studio C. Sometime this week I want to head down to Clairmont to check out the store on sports arena blvd.
Does anyone know what kind of stage and bots they have down there?

I believe they now have a Beta, although once they had a 1 stage. What did you think of Escondido? All I can say about it is the new store can't compare to the old one on Mission Ave which closed almost three years ago with a 3 stage.

I wasn't too fond of the one in Escondido. While it was bigger than the one I'm used to going to, I didn't really like the Studio C, I prefer to see the other characters as well. The Chuck bot was nicer than I expected, though. And even though they put him on a nice tall stage there were STILL a bunch of kids hanging off of him. Parent's were putting their children on the stage so they can get rid of them and then wandering off. And some chubby lady saw me standing there with my camera trying to get a picture of Chuck before the mob of children returned and she PUSHED me out of the way so she can pig out on her cake!
But, that really had nothing to do with the store. Haha. I've never been to the one that closed, but this was my first time seeing the new Studio C, and I'm not very impressed (With the Chuck bot, yes. With the layout and idea, no.)

What about the one in Oceanside, on 2481 Vista Way? Does anyone know what kind of stage/bots they have?

They now have a beta, though they also once had a three stage, as it is a former Showbiz.

Especially 1861 University Drive, that's the next closest one to me.

Hey Ratman...quick question...you show a PTT that opened in El Cajon. I received info that there might have been an SPP in El Cajon. Can you confirm that?? Also, do you know of any other SPP locations in that area that did not become a CEC??

I was just at this store on monday and they have a beta with the avenger outfit and this is a 16 movement bot. Also they had real curtains but they didn't work. This store has phase 4 now. This store is pretty small. They did not have the skeeballs. They had the skytube's and whack a munch. That was my trip to this store.

I love the Oceanside/Carlsbad one! Was just there in May for the first time since I was little...though it could be I dig it as the building layout is pretty much the same as I remember it. It's a cute little place, especially the lower half.
Sadly, WAY too many CEC's these days all look the same. For some reason
Oceanside, Ventura and Thousand Oaks stood out to me as pretty nifty.

Oceanside? I don't recall it being a Showbiz at all in 1988 when I was there, unless they had been remodeled to feature CEC and the gang. I know *some* Showbiz' in the US oddly enough featured a Pizza Time Theater styled layout and main stage.
